Of all the great beasts in his personal menagerie, there was one which he felt was the most awe-inspiring. A pliathor. One that could tread upon the air as if it were land, at that. The serpentine beast was a gigantic mass of scales and fur; a lab-grown marvel which came out even bigger than typical pliathor. And on top of that, the leopard had the gall to feed the thing an elixir to spur even more growth. It had to be the largest creature one would ever lay their eyes on. Xentus was happy to have garnered a bond with the beast, and ever happier to show it off to the eyes of many.
"Xentus is looking to enter Basantai to the upcoming show", the leopard stated to the receptionist at the registration desk. The serpent towered high over the stall, paying no mind to the small things at its feet. If not for its keeper deciding upon this outing, it would be coiled up and merrily sleeping..

It had been a while since Noa had last signed up for any of these contests, but then it had been a while since Noa had last felt well enough to be up and about at all. He wa shaving a brief good spell, and recognizing that these were getting fewer and further between as of late, he decided to make the most of it. The Contest Hall happened to be having an event that suited him and his creatures... as far as he could tell, anyway. The concept of 'awe' was a little vague, as what one person found awe-inspiring could prove mediocre to another; and the line between awe and terror, well, that was a different question entirely. Still, he felt that if Azalea showed up and rained down a lightning bolt or two, that had to be worth something. And they did have some nice prizes in that shop of theirs. He was mildly surprised to see another Pliathor at the venue, and this one larger than Azalea. For her part, Azalea seemed curious rather than bothered -- but then, Noa had taken pains to train any troublesome shying behavior out of her when he started working with her. Rhys, too, seemed as though he would have liked to investigate the massive creature, but had enough sense not to actually do that. Once he reached the desk, Noa filled out the paperwork, then handed it back to the people manning the table. Now all there was to do was wait.

Their day in the garden had been productive in several regards, which, as was often the case, meant that it was not extremely successful in any one. Still, Zenjesi and Lunacy had managed some time to bond, and some time to make a discovery about her abilities. Zenjesi was not sure if the judges would agree, but certainly the passersby on their journey here believed Lunacy to be intimidating enough to qualify for the Display of Awe. Or perhaps it was Zenjesi themself they were shying from. Either way, the Seeker certainly qualified more than others in their kennel, with her dramatic appearance and physical capabilities. Not to mention, this newfound skill delighted the satyr, so surely it would disturb others. That seemed to be the typical order of things.
As they entered, however, Zenjesi stopped short. The beasts both already present and registering were like things out of dreams. Zenjesi looked to Lunacy, who had already shifted to lurk in their shadow at the mere sight. Every day they were surprised. A small sigh escaped them as they approached the counter. "Lunacy the Seeker will compete."

Embernacht ♂ Level 7 | Loyalty 2

Item:
She found herself holding her breath, for a number of reasons.
First: This was her first time in such an affluent area of the city. Glaringly, this was not her place, and its oppressiveness was tangible.
Second: Embernacht, her trained but far from loyal companion, still had much to learn. In some ways, his lack of connection did likely made her current countenance far more palatable.
Third: The mask, already resting close against her features, was not pleasant unless she was breathing through her mouth—and such a thing, here, would look ridiculous.
"Hello," she greeted the woman, though her eyes lingered long after her wiurn. Embernacht had picked up a scent, and seemed eager to move along. Thankfully, the roughly fashioned lead prevented him from doing so, and tugging seemed too much effort. "I believe there are forms, correct?" She found the paperwork, and hesitated. All her reasons for coming here—to the city, to this very hall today—came flooding over such a simple question as her name. For now, she was a stranger. An unknown. There could be no harm in it. Not yet.
Her smile was forced, but the mask covered its corners and perhaps added to its believability. Beyond her initial hesitation, the remainder of the form went quickly. And not a moment too soon, as Embernacht seemed to have had enough. She was only just able to pass the forms across before she hurried to regain slack in the lead, her fists both clenched tight—though only one held the rope.

The most awe inspiring beasts, huh. Kristofor reads the newspaper ad more the once. There's little pictures pasted around the ad like giant water snakes, dragons and dinosaurs? Like someone got hold of a stationary store's sticker package and decided to bling the ad before it was printed. Well he doesn't have any particularly BIG animals; only Suffolk might fit the bill for this particular thing. To HIM, he's a very awe inspiring animal. Deer typically are. So why the heck not. He hasn't been on the contest floor in a while, and it can give him a way to get out and stretch his legs. Both of them. The repointe shakes his antlers once or twice, hearing the teardrops tinkle together outside of his line of sight. part of the reason he likes the shiny spot in his stall; he can see his tinklies. "My name is Kristofor, here with Suffolk for the display of Awe" an ornamental Jackal? is signing the sheet before they know it.
