Happy Anniversary! Happy 15th Birthday to Hidden Crossroads! As you saw, we have a new species growth out, and the Create a Critter Contest has concluded! (Say that five times fast!) The winner won by a nose, with just one vote breaking the tie. Our winner is concept A, a snapping turtle inspired beast with Zeus-like control over an ominous ring of thunderclouds around its mountainous shell. Expect to see the eggs of this creature coming soon! And of course, everyone who voted in every single poll will receive a rare Special breed as a reward. For those who preferred the other concepts however, don't worry! None of what is drawn for these polls is thrown away, and they may someday be reintroduced in a different fashion. Thank you all to everyone who participated, and an extra big thank you to everyone playing the game! The site wouldn't be the same without you.  |

The Quest update is live! The Quest Board has been updated to a new format - now you know exactly how many posts you need to make, what you need to do (IC), and what the reward will be for every quest. (This also gives staff flexibility to add a bigger variety of prizes!) The tutorial has been updated with the new formats, as well as some tweaks to the rules - such as the requirement to put the number of times you've repeated a quest in your first post. Questing Inquisitor also had a huge update, with new prices, and a handful of new items. We'll keep adding new cool things to this shop over time, including more fun little magic items and buffs with a focus on characters and exploring/adventuring. If you've noticed a few items are now missing from the QI, these items can be earned instead by repeating old quests. We thought this was a better way to obtain them. Some quests are now able to be repeated again for more QP, so you can grab more QP for all of the new prizes. Yay! |

Another batch of new quest items have been added to the questing inquisitor including the highly requested 'Ghost Salve' and some skill books for the most popular skills! :D You might also have noticed that we changed the size of some older items to be more in line with other trinkets and toys on site. If you'd like to keep using the old, larger images you may do so by adding _1 before the .png part of the image's URL! |

Trick or Treat!It's the spookiest time of the year, and to celebrate, some of the Shopkeepers in the city have gotten together to host a Trick or Treat event for Vai Min Mur. Go visit your favorite shopkeeper for a free loot item! 🌼 Alura has items from the Gardens. 💎 Kor has items from the Mines. 🐟 Ka'shisk has items from the River. 🌙 Mr. Simon has items from the Eccentric's Mansion. 🍄 Turner has items that can be harvested from Garden pets. Not sure what you want? Why not visit 🎲 Kale for a random item? There's a chance that he might even give you two items instead of just one. Nice! Pst. Hey you. Yea you. Did you know that 💰 Alan has managed to get his hands on some items, too? Though he won't give them to you for free, of course. You can visit him once a day and pay 25c for a random item. How to Participate1. Pick which shop(s) you want to visit and make one regular post in the Trick or Treat thread. Your posts must be in character and on topic! Posts in these threads follow all of the usual rules for visiting shops. (You may bring pets with you, as long as they're well behaved.) 2. You may visit two shops per day. You may also visit Alan once a day in addition to your other choices. You may only visit two shops per player regardless of how many characters you have. You do not have to use the same character(s) every time. 3. You cannot visit the same shop twice in a row. This means that you must pick two different shops each day that are not the same as the shops you picked yesterday. (Except Alan, who you can see once a day.) 4. The 'day' resets at Midnight each day according to Central Daylight Time (GMT-5). You may post again on the next day even if staff hasn't responded to your previous post yet. This event will start on October 1st and end on October 31st. Please do not post before or after these dates. Please note: Rare items including crystals, fossils, pocketpets, wishing well prizes, and high value pet-harvested items will not be given out during Trick or Treat.

Check it out!Oh, by the way, you can also upgrade your old mind crystal images to the new ones by changing the .gif to .png. Yay! Thanks a ton to our resident gem enthusiast Darky for doing the art of the crystals for us! Ps - They do count as mining familiars! |

Hey everyone! I am currently updating the registered training lists, clearing out old training for users or pets that aren't around anymore. I do have a legacy list tucked away. Please don't panic if you have training you can't find, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do! It's definitely WIP.
Also, there's a new line on training application forms, the final line asks for the level of your pet. Please fill that line out, as it's getting harder to interpret what notes the pet's level, if there is a note at all. It helps us out tremendously!

Hey guys, it's me again! I've shuffled around some of the boards on the forum, so keep an eye on your links, just in case they've had a change of heart. A new sub forum has been added to the News and Announcements board, it's for staff members to gauge interest in different systems or challenges, just for us to get a general feeling of what everyone wants as players  If you have any suggestions for the forum, please keep posting them in the Suggestions forum, it's the best way for everyone to see what's going on. Also, I'm hoping to update some of the formatting on some of the older threads, as well as going through some backlogged information to get things a little more in depth with some things. We'll see how that goes! |

As you may have noticed, a bunch of items (and a few pocketpets) have gotten a facelift, including those available as Quest Prizes, Questing Inquisitor magic items, Vai Min Mur Candy, and a few other little things here and there. Your items will update automatically. (Refresh to force an update.) In addition to that, we have a few small updates: * - Quests 1, 2, 11, 12, and 19 have new colors of some items that you can pick up on your next completion. * - There is a new quest - #33. * - The breeding center charm and galaxy satchel quest items have new/improved uses. * - Playful Pup, Moonlit Loom, the Contest Hall, and Questing Inquisitor all have some new items on offer. |

New WELP Corp Services Offered!So! I'm going to be honest with you guys. A few days ago, I took my cats to the vet and found out that one of my cats has dental issues and may need tooth extractions. (Gotta love that Persian jaw anatomy, eh?) This is going to be pretty expensive- the estimate I was given was between $450 and $775 dollars (Possibly up to $1,000). I do have savings and I can afford this, but I don't really make enough at my current job to replenish those savings. However, the situation is not urgent (he is not in pain and is eating just fine), and so I have time to save up the money needed. However, I'm staying in good spirits about this and I'm using this opportunity to offer previously unavailable options at WELP Corp! Starting today, I am now offering three new services: MML species customs and file remakes, custom items and crossbreeds. Normally, I prefer to focus on items, creatures, and growths for the whole site and so have limited my services exclusively to WELP species customs and breedings, but as of right now I have decided to offer more. As a result, this offer is temporary- once I've gotten the money together and/or my cat has his surgery, I will be closing those services once again. So if you were ever interested in getting an item, pocket pet, or crossbreeding done by me, now's the time to get it! In addition, I will also be drawing growths for the Bulldozer species, which can be funded using the site's pop-up shop here. I am also offering more standard commissions off-site, so if anyone is interested in a drawing of an OC, feel free to contact me on discord. I also have an Etsy store. I am looking to be as fully open and honest about this situation as possible. This was unexpected for me, and I know I haven't been very active artistically lately. For the past year or so I have been participating in an art tournament that has taken up much of my time, and I have made it to the final round after having made several thousand drawings for it and six chapters of an ongoing visual novel series. Currently the final round is slated to end April 28th- my birthday! However, it may be extended further. Regardless, I expect to be done with it by the end of May at the latest. I will attempt to work on orders and commissions during it, but failing that once the tournament is over I will 100% be focusing my time and energy on any orders made immediately after its over, and I'm happy to keep everyone updated on the progress of their orders at all times. Everything will be finished as soon as possible, and I have no intention of slacking on it. Current Amount Raised:

More image updates for you! Many items in Supply and Demand have recieved a facelift! The shop itself has also got a fresh coat of (digital) paint and now displays items in the new format. Other than their apperance (and some new colors available for some items), nothing about the items has changed. How do you update your items? You can change .gif in your file name into .png for most items to get the new one. If you need help working it out, or you want to swap an item for one of the new colors, please post in image updates and a staff member will send you the new ones. |

Happy Anniversary! Happy 16th Birthday to Hidden Crossroads! All of us here are so happy you've stuck around to see another year. It means the world to us staff that so many people have chosen this little corner of the internet to hang out at year after year. We have a couple of small festivities- first and foremost, the Create A Critter polls have concluded, with the winner being the 'flute frog' concept! That's not to say the other concepts are permanently scrapped however. They may return in another form someday! Work will begin on creating the new species as soon as possible. Furthermore, the Catharion have grown to juvie! I hope you enjoy their new forms- and their newfound ability to phase out of reality. |

Hello everyone, just a quick announcement. The image hosting site Imgur has announced recently that it is going to be removing old anonymously posted images and NSFW images in May. We do not expect this to affect Hidden Crossroads. While we used Imgur briefly when Photobucket was at its worst, we have since moved all of our images onto our Neocities server and have been using those for a few years. Furthermore, we uploaded these on our personal imgur accounts as well (ie, not anonymously) so we don't expect any images on site to break even if they haven't been updated to the Neocities versions. However, if you use non-HxRv2 hosted images for things such as kennel decorations, avatars, signature images, etc. you might want to back those up as when the purge happens, you might end up with a broken picture. If you were planning on doing some spring cleaning on your journals and kennels, now is a good time to do it! |
