Morgan was... Shocked at his bravery, to say the least. He was small; leggy, but had a deep chest and it showed in that relatively deep growl. Morgan was sure that they were going to be fine, but they hadn't worked on an 'at ease' command yet, so Morgan was just going to let it be for now. Unless the fires got any closer, anyway. They floated in the air; just how were they staying lit? Morgan glanced back over at the grill, which was beginning to burn the charcoals down, but they were still not ready for cooking. What were the fires doing over there? Why were they flitting in circles around the rock over there? Morgan glanced over there again, to watch the fires as they went around. They didn't really make sense, but Morgan was sure that they had some kind of scientific explanation. Everything did, at the core of it, even if it wasn't known yet.

Morgan finally bent down and gently stroked Nico across his back, trying to calm him. He was so aggravated and protective, that his fur on his back was raised up along the spine like a razorback. Morgan smoothed it down gently, murmuring to him gently. "Calm down, Nico. Boyo, calm down." Eventually, the tiny creature stopped growling, but he was watching the fires with a keen expression. Morgan was a bit shocked at how protective he already was of them. "Good boyo, it is fine." Morgan continued, and then looked up at the fires again. They were gone now; where had they went? Morgan tilts their head, and then glanced back at the grill to make sure that it would be fine. "Come on Nico, do you want to see what is over there?" Morgan started walking over there, and Nico immediately follows, his head held close to the grass.

'Don't mess with an androgyne and their canine' It would appear as if Morgan's brain was rebelling, and perhaps trying to kill them, because they immediately laughed and nearly choked on nothing. Ah, such a good twist on the 'boy and his dog' thing, and it fit here with Nico quite enough. Morgan felt a bit of a thrill; a bit abnormally perhaps, that they could be walking into danger. That was... Odd... Morgan was not normally one that chased that sort of adrenaline high, but then again, so many things had changed after swallowing the chaos node. The twinge in the chest and bit of flutter in the throat about possibly getting attacked by those fire things was just... Odd. Morgan had done very well in the previous dangerous situations they'd gotten their-self in this last month, so perhaps they were just getting used to coming out on top of dangerous information? [21]

Once they got there, however, the excitement was gone. There was a single large boulder there, and a big tangle of strange glasses with a lot of sparkling ends of different colors. Kind of like the bush before; from the day that they had brought Shigeru here. It was a while back, now, at least. The houluh stayed close to Morgan's legs for a moment, and then struck out like lightning after something in the grass; grabbing whatever it was in his mouth. It was... A candle? Morgan's face probably showed confusion clear as day, but they weren't sure whether it was safe or not. "Nico, drop it." Morgan said, but wound up grabbing it from the creature anyway, because he was shaking it roughly. Morgan gently petted his head. "Good boyo Nico!" And then looked at the candle... It was some kind of strange running candleman; Morgan hadn't seen one this close before here at the mansion.

Morgan was quite weirded out by this thing, but wasn't really sure what to do with it. Whatever it was, it seemed tired out, now. "Well, this is... Odd." Morgan figured that they could take it home and check it out, perhaps, do some tests to see what it was. Was it some sort of creature? It just had to be. "What do you think, Nico?" Morgan asked, of course rhetorically. Nico looked up anyway, having heard his name, and shook his head, his ears kinda flying around. Then, the creature sniffed again, and raised his ears calmly, staring pointedly at the grass. "Do you see something else, Nico?" Morgan asked. They didn't get done asking before the houluh took off into the grass again, seemingly chasing something around. Was that... a sparkler? That was dangerous! "Nico, drop that boyo!" Morgan called out, and then pulled it away from the canine.

It turned out that there was actually a ton of stuff hidden in the grass around the rock in that one particular area; and Morgan was immediately suspicious of it. "Nico, can you; why are you- h-h-hey s-stop that!" Ah, the stuttering. The stuttering that occurred when Morgan was truly worried and aggravated, flustered, whatever strong emotions occurred. They had been worse whenever they were younger, it had gotten better as they got older, but sometimes it still started back up. "Hoi boyo- s-stop." Nico had himself something in his jaws again that he was shaking pretty violently. It seemed like he had been spooked enough with the little fires that he was now aggressively stopping anything from possibly hurting him or Morgan in the future... That was when it hit Morgan, as they removed the newest thing from Nico's mouth; he would make a great protection animal, even if he was small.

Morgan suddenly had so many things in their hands, and it seemed like Nico just kept pulling them out of the grass around the rock and it was endless and wow would it ever stop? The mansion was such a weird place and WHO KEEPS LITTERING AROUND HERE DANGIT and where are the labs robots that clean the grass around? Morgan sometimes thought things all at once, since they'd had the chaos node swallowed, but this was like a sudden attack of the mind. Morgan screwed their eyes shut and grimaced suddenly, as a strike of lightning of a sensation ran through their body. There was darkness, and somewhere outside, there was a sound. The door shut, and Morgan turned around. Suddenly, their arms had nothing in them. The human blinked, and felt for their eye glasses, pushing them up their nose reassuringly. They couldn't really feel anything, and where were they? [25]

It was... Dark here. Morgan pushed on, walking in boots that felt way too light now; like they could run infinitely. It took them some time to realize that they were walking down a dark hallway, since Morgan couldn't feel the concrete of the floor, but once they got close enough to see a light at the end of the hall, they began running. Faster than they had ever gone before, and a dexterous leap was spontaneously made when Morgan felt more than seen or heard something lash out at them from the side. They tumbled through the bright doorway, and fell into... A clump of sawgrass. Morgan could feel the cuts it made on their face, but that was about it. Suddenly the world exploded in sounds and smells; and then literally exploded into bright lights. Where were they?
Back in the mansion's grounds, a small houluh pup stands guard over the crumpled and unconscious body of the bespectacled human.

Morgan wasn't sure where they were. The sky was overclouded, and the grass was sharp. Morgan scrambled for cover, hopping over a barbed-wire fence and dodging back behind a rock. They barely felt like they were in control of their own weightless form, but the world felt so... Real. The bespectacled human felt similar, but different. They were tall, and when they put their hand to their face in shock while staring at the hellscape about them, they felt... Stubble. Something they'd never been able to grow. There was not any time to really think about that, since a fireblast was coming their way. Another roll later, and Morgan could feel their-self crouched down in a sort of ditch. A large creature flew over; some sort of... What was that thing? Immediately, a mosca took off after it, looking incredibly small in comparison. Just what was that thing? Morgan wasn't afraid, but felt the secondary hammering of a heart instead.
The houluh could smell something strange nearby in the grass; but he stood resolutely at his master's side, hackles raised.

Another fireball rocketed the ground nearby, and suddenly, the world crumbled into nothing. Morgan felt like they were falling, the way one would jerk in a dream, and suddenly, they were in a bright white room. They were tapping their foot. The boots were easily a size larger than what Morgan would have considered, and they were tipped in steel on the outside. Suddenly, they looked up, someone had said something nearby, and they held their clipboard close to their chest while they shook the individual's hand. The person was short, far shorter than they were (when had they gotten so tall?) and looked a bit odd. They had a can in their pocket; with a chiryma chick in it. Where were they?
The world faded out like smoke this time, and Morgan was suddenly entwined in something, as if they were being choked by vines. But it was bigger, and warmer than vines were...
The houluh began growling at the thing; it was dark, and hiding on the other side of the stone. It looked like the other two-leggers, and it was wearing crescent-shaped glasses that glinted in the light.

Morgan could feel the scales up against them, and when they glanced down, they realized with a quick start that they were right up against slick scales with their chest. Morgan didn't get the best look, since their glasses were suddenly off, but when they looked up, they could see the bright blue eyes and pale soft nose before the world fell away again. Morgan felt like they were falling through fog, and it was suddenly cold to be ripped away from all of that warmth. Morgan finally found themself standing in a dark, dark room. They walked across the room, holding a clipboard to them. They had something around their neck; a lock of pure white fur. They gently touched it, and then sat down gently at a desk, where they looked across the darkened room to see a glowing green canister full of liquid.
Hundreds of them.
The houluh barked loudly; once.

Morgan wasn't sure how they could see all of the jars and jars and jars, or were those really jars? All from sitting down in that one spot; they lined the walls, they lined the floors, there were so many, and all were filled with goo but appeared otherwise to be empty. Except for one. Morgan turned to the side to look at it; and found their self face to face with some sort of small... Creature. Morgan heard a noise, and suddenly turned down to their information pad, which was suddenly in their hand. The best thing that I ever did, the best part of me, the only good in me-
Suddenly, a bark is heard; it breaks through the fog, and suddenly, as suddenly as they had fell into it, Morgan falls out of it. Morgan wakes up on the grass outside of the mansion with a splitting headache; and catches a glimpse of a strange dark figure that dissipates immediately. The houluh tries to chase after it, but it is already long gone by the time he gets over there.

Morgan didn't know what was happening at first, but quite quickly, their thoughts clicked into place properly. There certainly had been something there; the houluh had seen it. Morgan would not have believed it if the houluh hadn't reacted so negatively to it. They placed a hand to their head, and it was quite funny how things turned out. The first thing they thought was 'oh no I need to check the grill!' and the next thought while getting to their feet and rushing to the grill was ' the best thing that ever happened to me'; the tiniest voice; and it wasn't their own. They couldn't quiet place it; it was distorted, it wasn't theirs, but... The grill was ready for cooking now, and Morgan busied their-self by placing the meat on the grill carefully using the plastics. Morgan was glad that nothing bad had happened when they had... Fallen asleep. Yeah, that had to be it. They hadn't been sleeping well lately. They couldn't even remember the dream well.

Now that the meat was properly on the grill (two bratwurst and a hamburger on one side for the houluh, and two seasoned hamburgers and two bratwursts on the other side for Morgan) the human finally called out to the houluh. Nico was still sniffing around the rock, clearly looking for... Whatever that had been. It was probably just someone trying to frighten them while Morgan was asleep. The idea of some dumb kid or something behind around here annoyed Morgan, but they seemed to be gone now. The Mansion really seemed to draw some strange people. Perhaps Morgan should be more worried about the fact that they had apparently fallen asleep outside, and suddenly, but at this point, Morgan was just glad that they had some shut-eye.
The houluh finally gave up his search, and came back to Morgan, sniffing at the bottom of the grill now that the meat was started cooking.
