Millicent nodded. Morgan hadn't been looking at her when she did, but Morgan could tell by the way her clothes rustled around her hair. Morgan always noticed the little things about the world more so than the big things. The human came back through the gate, having left the grill on wheels outside of the inner gate, and closed the gate quietly. "How about we take a quick second to walk back and forth, see if there is anything interesting to get, a-and then let's hit the park, huh?" Morgan said, smiling at her. She nodded, always willing to have adventure, though it was true- she felt something out there, too. She wasn't sure what it was, a little bit of an anxiety, but they had no idea what to consider that this could be. She wasn't one of those people that could feel it coming, at least not yet.

Morgan was, however, one of those individuals that could feel danger coming, and though Morgan always headed that advice, they tended to try to do it a little later than usual, to see it coming. They wanted to be able to see what it was that they should be afraid of, if anything at all. Millicent, however, was not ready to take care of herself, so Morgan just wanted to do a quick jaunt, check around for anything of interest and maybe catch sight of something out there dangerous to see. They had no idea what they would find, however, they were sure that there was something to be found around here, probably something good, if there was some kind of danger out there threatening them in order to keep them off of it. Of course, that was just a theory, it was very much possible that they were wrong. In fact, they probably were.

Morgan tromped around the gate on the inside for a bit, running their boots through the tall grass in search of anything of interest. Millicent followed, having the time of her life looking for something 'bad' out there, but there wasn't anything of too much interest out here at the moment. However, the human quietly picked up a few vials, there were so many of these this month! More vials to normal item ratio than they were used to getting, that was for sure. However, there were lots of different weird things they noticed, flowers made out of 'felt' or 'plastic' it would seem. After a bit, Morgan turned around to go back towards the gate. "Let's get going, looks like we can do a bit of grilling at the park instead, a-alright Millicent?" Of course Millicent was excited about that, so they picked up anything of interest and made their way towards the outer gate.

Morgan returned a few days later; with Waar instead of Millicent. Morgan hadn't trusted that bad feeling they had a few days before, so they took Waar here instead, hoping that his 'being big' might help Morgan with anything that threatened them this time around- like a big bodyguard. It had been a long time since Waar had been out anywhere, let alone here. Waar had been learning to deal with his newfound sentience at home, and preferred not to be disturbed much for a long time. Now, he was much more comfortable, though he still talked low and slow. He didn't really get the reason why it was so desirable to be able to communicate in this way. However, Waar followed Morgan closely. "When... Are we-" He began. Morgan smiled at him reassuringly. "We'll go back to the gym soon, okay? We've got to get you used to goin' again."[71] - [Start with Waar]

Waar made a deep guttural noise in his throat somewhere. Morgan sometimes forgot that Waar was basically some kind of weird zombie now. Even the grass died around his barn, Morgan had noticed. Something was weird about that, they felt like the something was wrong- but who were they supposed to ask about him? The idea of going back to that accursed temple to ask about it felt wrong, somehow. Far too weird. Nope, they would deal with this as it came. Waar and Morgan tromped through the outer grounds of the mansion, after having slipped into the outer gate, and walked across the soft grass there towards the inner gate. Morgan had explained to Waar why he was coming, but not really what to expect. It was a bit concerning, all things considered, that they had felt something bad was going on out here. They tried to feel it, this go around.

However, Morgan wasn't feeling that same foreboding feeling this time that they had clearly felt (and so did Millicent!) last time. Waar was watching Morgan with lots of curiosity, his bright green eyes glowing creepily. The human swallowed, unsure of what to say to him. He was clearly questioning Morgan's judgement, which was a pretty sarane thing to do even with him being sentient and all. The human was quiet as they made their way to the inner gate. The outer area wasn't much different, and Waar cleared his throat, gurgling a bit. Then, he spoke through the collar. "Not much different." Not a question, hardly a statement. He was as quiet as ever. The sarane looked at Morgan, up and down, and Morgan knew better than to feel like a prey animal. Sarane were always looking for the upper hand, and Waar would not be so different regardless of his circumstance.

Sarane were strange, difficult creatures. Morgan knew that if Waar, or any other Sarane, got the idea in their head that they could take their owners on and win, they would do so. They stayed broken only if the relationship stayed the same, and Morgan had given him the gift of sentient thought, of understanding, of planning. All Morgan had on him was planning, sentient. Waar seemed to be weighing his options, even now. Morgan, however, had just felt like there was danger out there, yet again. They could tell that Waar felt it too. He looked away from the human, loomed over them protectively (Morgan wasn't sure if they liked being treated like a hen even for a moment or two) and he searched for the enemy. The wind blew pollen across the grass and flowers from the trees on the outer yard of the property, and Waar ignored them. He hadn't breathed for a long time.

Morgan wasn't sure why they felt so protected, and wasn't sure if they appreciated it (okay, they didn't) so they stepped outside of the protective circle of Waar's tail. The human wanted to pat him protectively, but decided not to last second (acid!). After a moment or two, the strange danger feeling died down a tad and the pair stood there for a moment, trying to decide whether or not they should stay and wait for it, or whether they should chase whatever it was down. "Would be easier... Fly." Waar said through the collar. Morgan frowned a bit. "I want you near m-me, Waar. No sense in you stray'n off and getting in a fight with some drake." Morgan said, voice calm. "Naw, you walk with me." Morgan said, reaching for the gate. It didn't smell like blueberries, this time, thank goodness. It had taken Morgan days to wash that off.

Waar snorts, and Morgan ignores it for the time being. Spending any time at all with a drake was an exercise in power struggle. Morgan wasn't so huge on that, but he was a HUGE pseudo-dragon with a lot of anger in him. Morgan didn't blame him. Morgan did a lot of self-blaming over what happened to him, and knew that bringing him back, especially in this manner, and no matter how much it cost them, was not enough to make up for it. Waar didn't push it, perhaps something biological in him was twisting his metaphorical claw, but he couldn't seem to do it. It didn't keep him from being difficult, however. Morgan held the gate open for him and he just stood there, sounding more like a creaky branch than the 'dragon' that he was, until Morgan shut the gate on him and he had to half hop-half fly over it.

Yeah, Waar was going to be difficult forever. That wasn't going to change just because they'd been through a lot. Morgan could remember him, a cute little scrawny drake-teenager, chewing on chicken wings that Morgan threw from a bag with gloves. Cute leetle teenager Waar... Now he was a big overgrown zombie. That was normal. Morgan tried not to think about it too much. A big overgrown zombie, with a sentience boosting ring around an antler and a collar that helped him speak. No big deal. Waar seemed impressed that Morgan had shut him out, however, and though he of course was now beside Morgan on the inner grounds, he was no longer being a lump, and instead was acting a little more like his old self. Nevermind the fact that he was still quite slow. Morgan was going to have to work with him more in the future to remedy that issue.

Never mind the fact that the first time they had went to the gym, it had taken a lot more work than it had when Morgan had brought Nico to the gym to get Waar to have a similar result. He was a big, bulky thing, and it probably didn't help a whole lot that he didn't quite have as many muscles as he used to. Bummer. The human couldn't help but want to give him a bit of extra attention. Some evenings Morgan still went out to give him a pat and some exercise around the estate. He didn't want to do it most days. Morgan had no idea what to do with him on those days. He had about as much depressed days as Morgan did. It was the price they paid for Morgan's inability to do things properly. The human stared out over the grounds, with glowing green sarane eyes beside them.

The world didn't seem as off the wall today, as it had been the last two times they had been here. The short trip with Millicent had caused Morgan to feel like there was a bit of danger out here, more so than they had found during Morgan's trip with the dragonoak at the beginning of the month (though they would have appreciated not feeling the sickness from the change of month- they hadn't really planned for that). Now that Morgan wasn't planning on throwing the poor dragonoak into the pit like they were before, they felt a little more relaxed. However, Morgan and Waar were out here to pursue whatever the 'danger' was the last time they were here, so the human wastes hardly any time surveying the land before giving the signal to Waar, who tilted his head at them, eyes glittering.
"Let's go, ya big mess." Morgan murmured at him affectionately.

Waar mumbled something behind Morgan, through the collar, though quite obviously taking from Morgan's book. Where were all of Morgan's family members picking up all of this snark? "M-Millicent has an excuse- she's a teen. What's yours?" Morgan said slyly to him, but didn't look at him. A grumble, and then a sigh. "Mnn... Didn't... Get you back for all that... Snarkin'." The Collar finally manages to translate. Morgan would have pushed on his shoulder, had he not been dripping acid slowly... Like tree sap. "Uh-huh, whatever." Morgan said. Their left hand still had the rope burns from when the beast had to be broken. Thankfully, it was the only real damage that had been done to Morgan, and it was of their own doing. They knew that they weren't strong enough to hold onto the saddle without a rope.
Waar didn't have to know that, though. The pair walked onto the mansion's porch.

Waar nearly bumped his head, it would seem that the bottom of the porch overhang was a little smaller this month than it had been in the apst. The human couldn't help but chuckle at him, and his ridiculous reaction to it (a near swing and a miss at a pillar with his poison tipped tail). "You always wu-were a ham, Waar." Morgan said to him, offhandedly. Again, that desire to give him a pat was stopped whenever Morgan remembered that he was corrosive. Too much danger in that of course for far too little return. Waar had a bit of delayed feeling on being touched anyway, now that he was in the shape he was in. Waar murmured in reply, tail tip twitching with slight annoyance. At least they hadn't been bothered by anything too dangerous up to this point. The walk had been rather uneventful, in fact.
