Calculations
Shy Guy uses Venomous Bite Shy Guy's Dexterity of 8 + 7 rolled by staff = 15 Shy Guy will deal the most damage possible Shy Guy's Strength of 5 + 2 damage of Venomous Bite = 7 7 - Sandy's Resistance of 7 = 0 Damage can't be 0 Sandy has 9 Stamina left Acid Fang does 2 points of damage Sandy has 7 Stamina left Infectious Bite brings Sandy's Dexterity to 4 and Mentality to 0 Venomous Bite does 1 point of damage every turn from here on out
Sandy uses Bash Sandy rolls a 10! Sandy's attack automatically hits for the most damage possible Sandy's Strength of 10 + 6 of Bash = 16 damage 16 - Shy Guy's Resistance of 4 = 12 Shy Guy has -4 Stamina left
Sandy has 6 Stamina left

That was flipping terrifying. Renathan felt like he kept seeing Shy Guy go down this entire time; but that wasn't real, right? Because Shy Guy was standing there, getting up after being bashed into; but Renathan could see it. The opponent had acid eating away at them a heartbeat ago. The opponent had been hit; and now that venom would eat away at the opponent from here on out, he just knew it! Renathan called out a verbal command even before the opponent had hit; knowing that the equillion wouldn't be able to do anything about it before the hit anyway. "Ritz it up!" He cried, trying to be loud over the noise in the pit. Shy Guy wobbled to his feet; looking bruised and battered, but he wasn't done yet. They still had tons of tricks up their sleeves, and as long as Shy Guy was up and running, he could fight. She guy bounced up, all of his legs straightened like a pronghorn that was stotting, and flashed his tail right up in the opponent's face as soon as he could.

Sandy let out a loud whail, the Thundergug stumbling back from the terrible bite. She did not enjoy the attack in anyway. She stumbled backwards, feeling the acid flow into her bulky body. This was surely not going to be something that was enjoyable. She shook her head, recovering before going back into her attack. Yes, it was a bad bite, but the Thundergug was a hardy creature and could handle something like that. She moved much better this time, probably one of her best attacks yet. She came into good contact with the Equillion, and an attack that would have taken out most somehow did not take out this creature. It was battered and bruised, and Amelia was shocked to see it still fighting. Perhaps it had something special up its sleeve. Sandy circled back, breathing heavily and feeling the terrible stinging from the fleshy bite. She took a moment, and her pain was evident. This was no ordinary bite. Amelia could see the hurt in the Thundergug's eyes.
You're doing great. That was an incredible hit, one of the best I've ever seen. Do it again, maybe we'll get lucky and take this creature out. The mammalian wasn't crazy hopeful, but she had to provide some reassurance to the Thundergug. It didn't help that they also shared emotions, so despite her best effort the 'gug knew how she felt. Still, they would go down fighting. This was not a battle that they would just let their opponent easily win. He was not walking away uninjured, that was transparent.
Sandy reared back and began to run forward again, once more trying to attack. The flash of the tail however, that was something shocking...
(Sandy wants to use Bash, but instead is probably just skipping her turn again) 5

Renathan was very happy to see that Shy Guy's little trick was working; it was the first time he'd seen it used and he was feeling a little giddy. Renathan knew that they did have a long way to go. He didn't know how hurt the thundergug was, or how long it would take the venom to take effect. However, he knew that they just had to keep playing keep away until it knocked the big lug down. Renathan put his fingers to his mouth and whistled the command for Intangible Body. It was a windlike whispering sort of whistle; and Shy Guy got it immediately. As soon as Shy Guy finished surprising the huge creature, he jumped towards the creature; twisting into the air mysteriously... And did he just disappear? No; his body still looked like it was there; but he was no longer corporeal! Instead one with the air around him. Renathan crossed his fingers that the opponent didn't have a non-physical move. This was a very pure equillion move; one naturally learned by them. Undoubtedly it would be interesting for the public to see.
[Shy Guy uses Intangible Body!]
[Will you please do a countdown for how long it lasts in the calculations for both of our benefits? It is TMP #3.]

Sandy stumbled backwards from the shock of this move. Well, here she was once more. Before she was able to gather herself to do anything, the opponent went invisible. Well this didn't seem very helpful. She looked at her owner for help.
I don't know what the fuck is happening Sandy. We're just running around in circles here. Amelia didn't know what to do. In reality, Sandy was just slowly getting weaker and the opponent, although very damaged, was still standing. This seemed to be a very long lasting battle. Battles typically only lasted a couple of turns, yet here they were quite a bit into it with both creatures still standing. Sandy could make some of her own choices, but now with the Equiilion ethereal none of the brute's techniques were going to do much.
Amelia tell me what to do. I can't attack this creature.
It was the truth. Fuck it. Just run around.
Well, that was an option. The Thundergug looked at the mammalian, who she could tell was quite frustrated with the way the battle was playing out. She shrugged and began to run around, the Thundergug's endurance training people helpful in this situation.

Renathan knew that Shy Guy could certainly attack again now; he was sure that due to what this move actually did; that he should be able to call for his creature to do some kind of elemental attack while in this state. However, he did not know if there was going to be some sort of situation where it would cause some issues. So until the enemy was down to the brass tacks; Renathan realized that it would be a bad idea to cause any issues until he knew that they could do it. Renathan called for the creature to use lick wounds; "Shy Guy, you need a bandaid!" Immediately, the whispy creature whipped around and began licking his wounds, taking the time to try to help up as much as possible. It was not going to help a lot, certainly, but it was worth something he was sure. It wasn't an attack, so he was sure that it would be fine.

Sandy stopped running and watched the foe lick itself, seemingly help heal some of the wounds she had caused. Well, it was something. Benefited the opponent surely, but she wasn't really sure what to do. Sandy looked at the mammalian standing against the railing.
Okay, so now what's the plan? Do you want me to keep running around?
Well, no. Honestly Sandy I'm not sure what to do. Ideally we could just leave, but I don't feel comfortable giving up.
No, you're right. I want to stick it out. I'm sore from this poison, but I know they will heal me up and I'll be okay. I just have to be patient right? This creature can't stay funny looking forever, eventually I'll have to be able to hit him.
Amelia didn't reply, instead she groaned and sat down on one of the squeaky metal chairs. The problem was, she felt helpless. Her poor pet, who was looking up to her to make some choices. She just wasn't able to give her any answers. Sandy's moveset was surprisingly limited for a situation like this, and it made her realize that a primarily physical tank wasn't going to do much good in tournaments where the opponent had a variety of moves. It wasn't Sandy's fault, she just wasn't elementally inclined and never had been. There was really nothing Amelia could do to change that, aside from getting an injection. Which, for the Thundergug, didn't make much sense.
Why don't you run around a little bit more? If anything look at it as getting in some exercise. You have some good endurance and stamina so I can't imagine it would be tough.
The Thundergug looked blanky at the mammalian, but was happy to follow the command.

Renathan knew that the next bit would be their last if he couldn't pull this off. Renathan wasn't sure how much longer that Shy Guy's little thing was going to last; so he kept his eyes out for when the shimmering was going to occur. So, Renathan decided that they should do the whole Hidden mist thing; NOW. Renathan put his fingers to his mouth again, and called out the command for Hidden Mist; it was a haunting whistle, strange and odd. Shy Guy seemed to have heard it; and immediately he fell back, a goodly amount of fog suddenly beginning to precipitate around the area. Not too long after that, Shy Guy backed into the mist like and assassin, fading into the fog until he was no longer seeable at all. Just what was he planning? What would happen next? The arena filled up with thick fog, so much so that it could almost had been cut with a butterknife. Renathan knew that this was going to come in handy!

Sandy slowed her pace once more, standing to the side of the pit. She was feeling the effects of the poison, and it wasn't exactly an enjoyable feeling. She was getting tired, getting weaker. But still, she had a bit of strength left in her to fight. If only she would have the opportunity to. There was another whistle, and the arena filled with a thick fog and the opponent disappeared even more. This did not exactly feel useful for them. But the entire battle so far was that way. The Thundergug had gotten in one really good attack, and both of them felt good to see that the opponent was significantly wounded and struggling. It's strategy now seemed to be to avoid another attack, as they knew that one more attack from the Thundergug would take him out. Sandy's strength was apparent, it was a shame she hadn't been able to get another attack in yet. The Thundergug slunk towards a wall, the thick fog blinding her vision of the arena.
Okay Sandy. So it looks like he's trying to hide from us further. He's afraid of you hitting him again, so this is how they're avoiding that from happening. He can't take another hit. I mean, you probably can't either at this point from that terrible poison, but let's work with what we can. Just run a little more okay. Might as well try to be a tougher opponent to attack if he's going to try to attack you.
The Thundergug wasn't really sure where their strategy was, it didn't seem to be much strategy in general. She would much prefer to attack the creature with her brute strength, but it appeared that wasn't much option at this point. The Thundergug also disappeared into the fog, aimlessly running around. Hoping not to hit any barricades.
Amelia frowned and slumped into her chair. Edges of the fog were drifting to the stands. She just wasn't sure how to get back from this.
(Let's just keep running...) 8

This was their chance. This was their only chance. Hidden Mist allowed Shy Guy to get his free hit in at double accuracy; but Renathan could tell by the stirring of the mist that the huge creature was still running. That would be a hard target, even for something that remains unseen. Renathan put his fingers to his mouth and whistled the command for Venomous Bite; knowing that it just had to hit. Shy Guy was somewhere in that sea of fog, and Renathan wished that he could see where he was so that he knew what to expect. Shy Guy tried to focus on where the big thundergug was, and finally decided on a time to strike. The equillion narrowed his eyes on the opponent the best he could, and then ran forward, mouth open and practically dripping that noxious stuff, ready to bite the weakened thundergug and maybe even inject some more acid or venom or something of that nature. Renathan held his breath. This was it.
[Shy Guy uses Venomous Bite]
[Remember that Hidden Mist doubles accuracy of the attack- shouldn't it and Run cancel out?]

The fog was so thick. Amelia was sad, and she was tired. This was a long battle, and she could slowly see Sandy tiring further and further. The Thundergug wasn't going to get very far, she was sure of it. She knew that the large beast would slowly be brought down, it was just disappointing to the mammalian that it wasn't as quick and painless as she had initially desired. She was not someone to give up. She knew if she had told Sandy just to forfeit the Thundergug would've been upset. Stubborn, she most likely would've argued hard about the decision. Thundergugs by nature were incredibly stubborn, and Sandy was no different. The only difference however, was her bond with the mammalian would generally triumph the stubbornness, and the Thundergug would do what she wanted even if it wasn't her initial desire. But Amelia had decided they would fight to the end, and even if it was the poison that took the Thundergug out, so be it.
Sandy, he's going to be coming at him. There. That whistle, I'm sure its a battle command. Get out of there.
I'll try my best, I'm honestly getting really tired. I don't think I can last much longer.
The mammalian frowned at the last comment, seeing her best friend deteriorate was never enjoyable. At least it would be over soon. She couldn't see anything in the fog, but she just hoped that Sandy would do her best.
