Fetching something was so natural it nearly felt silly to tie a command to it, but it could serve a purpose someday. Like differentiating when she was supposed to return something thrown or if it was something like... say, a firework, that ought to be left alone. It shouldn't have, but the ridiculousness of the idea brought a smirk to Lethalia's face. An extreme example, perhaps, but fireworks were (strangely enough) on her mind now. The houluh returned with her prize in tow, finally panting around her toy stick. If they tired her out a little bit for the day, it could be considered a success! "G'girl, good fetch! How 'bout a drop?" she asked as the pup approached. Expecting the demand this time, Foggy spat out the stick with a wet roll of her tongue, expectant eyes flickering from it to her owner. Well, what happened to their play?! "Okay, g'girl, y'gotta settle a minute, though. No more." June|32 drop|8 end fetch|6 end

Not like a rather fit young houluh like Foggy should have issues getting tired over a tiny game of fetch, but Leth had no idea how long their day out here was going to look. She'd recently hiked a decent canyon within the mansion after all, who knew what whims these four walls would have this time around? They could need the energy later depending on what was thrown at them! Foggy had picked up the stick to follow her owner with, dropping it at her hooves several times and looking so damn hopeful Lethalia almost caved. They'd have plenty of time for it later, preferably once they were home and didn't have to worry about what the mansion was up to. Studiously ignoring Foggy's repeated attempts at continuing their game, the satyr squinted at a tree in the far corner of the room, looking almost like a firework itself at this distance, laden with something glowing. There! The mansion entity, whether it was mage or mortar, loved attention. At least, that was Lethalia's working theory with all of this anyway. It was the only way it made sense. Like it were a person to be pleased, the magics of the place were certainly aware of it's visitors. All of it's antics were to get a reaction out of them, without much regard if it's traps were actually dangerous or not. Lethalia smirked; like a child with magic. They just seemed to want the attention their creations deserved - perhaps it was why she often felt safer pressing on and pursuing whatever spectacle she was meant to find. It might be a semi-malicious game, but one she could deal with nonetheless. Taking off for the tree, Leth felt the stick hit her heels a couple more times before Foggy gave up on it entirely. It was good she was so cute. June|34

Compared to the last, this room was downright refreshing. Of course it was, being mild enough to let them get a game of fetch in without bothering them terribly! It almost felt like their reward for trekking through the fireworks. Just silent fireflies, even if they were neumerous enough to be something of a nuisance. It was an odd room, dotted only with the light from the fireflies free and in countless jars on the ground (their presence actually made it decently bright) and a blanket of the night sky glimmering above. Pretty, but it's alignment was just off enough it couldn't have been the real thing. Foggy stared down the glowing sky-rasins, but her owner's 'look' was enough of a deterrent from sampling them again. Leth figured she would have to make up some kind of job for Foggy soon if she were to keep herself out of trouble. Foggy lv|25 ly|50 June|35

The tree loomed further overhead than she'd expected, something massive. It wept both in it's sweeping, drooping boughs and in the fine mist it was letting loose when one walked beneath it. Studded along each of it's long branches were countless paper lanterns, so dense it's foilage might well be red and glowing for all you could tell otherwise. Lethalia reached for a big net propped up against the tree, as if someone had given up in the middle of their hunt. The moment it was in her hands - a bored houluh lunged for the trailing handle. New plaything - what else could it have been?! "Hey - hey! Asshole," Lethalia laughed even as she teased the houluh, twisting around to match Foggy's pleased prancing around her owner with the handle in her mouth. Yeah, lucky she was cute. It got her out of more than she knew. "Aight - y'wanna help? Fine. Hol'it for me!" June|36 hold|1

She had been about to tell her dog to knock it off, but this was another chance to learn something small, wasn't it? Let alone changing tactics to something that would be easier than warding a hyped-up dog off. What was easier than going along with the houluh's games? Foggy staggered and looked surprised when her owner relinqushed her grip on the handle, but was instantly careening off with a tilted head and at a completely crooked angle. Still she dragged it off, net end trailing and catching on rock and roots on the ground. The spring in her step still told she felt like she was getting away with something. "Foggy, c'mere," Lethalia decided to test her houluh, pointing at the ground and telling her to drop the handle. That was an easy one, now. "Good! Now hol'it again." The net handle was presented to Foggy, who wasn't sure she wanted to play this game again. She didn't like the give-back part! June|37 hold|2

"Hold it, dum-dum" she encouraged in a sweet tone, smiling as Foggy took a more genuine interest at her bright voice. Her tail wagged and she seemed to be considering it, gingerly reaching for the handle while still looking like she was getting away with something. She was allowed to do this?! "G'on," Lethalia encouraged, gently pushing the handle through Foggy's teeth and repeating, "hold."Well. The turn of events seemed near confusing to the houluh, who sat still with the (really big stick) while a little dazed her owner was letting her have it. "Yeah, good!" Foggy seemed to like her baby-voice, so she was going to use it some. That got her up and moving, which was good - it meant she was figuring out how to deal the rest of the net trailing behind her! Lethalia was curious to see what the dogs were capable of thinking through, as she conditioned Foggy for adventures ahead. June|38 hold|3

Foggy's occupation gave Lethalia some precious time to peer into the glowing boughs of the odd tree. Each paper lantern glowed with an oddly flickering light, and at closer look, each and every one was a little different than the last. Their tones of crimsons and deep magentas looked united at a distance, but there was a small rainbow in those lights. Her eyes must have started to get the images of shadow and light burned into them, because Leth couldn've sworn the dancing of the lantern flame took on a humanoid shape. For mere moments, but it was so... No, she wasn't here to debate if faeries past harachu were real. "Keep holdin' it," Lethalia told Foggy, looking over to find the matronne had dropped her newest 'stick'. She walked over to help, but the grey houluh snapped it up and jaunted away before Leth could lay a finger on it. "Good, if it don't make'ya a brat." June|39 hold|4

In an effort to forget the enchanting lanterns, Lethalia turned her back to them and focused on her houluh. Currently prancing wide circles around her owner, but not interested in giving up her plaything yet. She would but damnit she didn't want to!! "Foggy, drop it, c'mere." Ah, there were the dreaded words. Still, the handle was dropped where she stood. Her dissappointment was short lived - her owner was holding something she hadn't seen before, after all. "G'girl! Hol' this?" Foggy sniffed the plush all over, looking a bit dubious. This wasn't a stick like they had been playing with! "C'mon, hold it," Leth repeated, gently pushing the stuffed animal into her. Taking it carefully at first, the houluh had to adjust her grip in order to not drop her new charge - something her owner piled on the praise for. Well, if she was going to get told she was good for carrying this, too...!! Foggy happily took that faeron plush in as many circles around the tree as she was asked to. While the 'dragon' month was a decent time to drag Juniper along, Leth had the sneaking suspicion the hen would have a lot more fun during this high-tide celebration? Perhaps she ought to have more of a hesitation in bringing her to the mansion after what it did to her last time, but what else could it do to her at this point? Clearly the place was powerful enough to expedite her growth; doing the reverse seemed like it ought to take a portion more of power. Then again, she didn't know much about magic. The reasoning sounded good enough if the reality may just be that she was stupid enough to go back. Either way, these ponds looked like Juniper was going to have a blast exploring. Already the hen was sniffing deepy of the brine in the air behind this big iron fence, curious of the tone of salt in the water. Juniper lv|20.1 ly|20.1 July|1

There was no other way the hen was going to experience saltwater in her life. Lethalia hadn't even seen the coast in ages, they were so far out of reach for most of this continent. It seemed like a unique experience for June, as long as Leth could make sure the hen didn't drink the seawater they ought to have a good time. Her little companion cling-on looked even more interested than than their big protector. Leth had started calling them Utu - even a tiny creature needed a name, especially if they were going to be a regular companion whenever Juniper was around. When it came to critters, she was too soft for her own good. "Utu gonna beat'cha there, June," Lethalia teased. The cliffjumper did indeed look ready to launch off of Juniper's back at first opportuity; did they remember the mansion was where they hailed from? Hard to tell. July|2

Something prevented Utu from taking off their protector's shoulder and exploring for themselves, which Leth was a little grateful for. Though the cliff jumper didn't care much for her it was hard to not get attached to the tiny thing. She'd be devatsated should anything ever happen to them. Matching the bleached tower in the background, the gate was also of driftwood which imbedded deep into the sand below. Lethalia had to lift it out of it's place in the sand, dragging it open with a fair amount of effort. Juniper practically pushed past her owner as the satyr struggled the gate open, leading to a scoff from the woman. Well - it was sand dues as far as the eye could see this month. It'd be pretty hard for her to just dissapppear. Lest she tempt the mansion to consider it, she turned back around to ensure the gate was back closed. July|3

Juni and Utu had found the nearest tide pool so at least they were easy enough to track down. "Y'seein anythin', baby girl?' Leth asked, patting the white hen as she came up behind her. Juniper barely spared her a glance, eyes only for the teeming marine life captured in this tiny lens. "Thinkin' ya'migh' have fun."Being at rest the cliffjumper trust the satyr more than when she was being loud, and Utu scrabmled to sit on her knee once the satyr sat quietly next to the duo. Smiling, she knew better than to reach out and chase them off, instead looking ahead to the various tiny things that enraptured both of them. So many things Leth had no idea what were, but spiked urchins and brilliantly poisonlous looking little slugs seemed like they were best left alone. Best policy for the unknown, especially when a lot of sealife seemed to be out to kill you. July|4

The minnows looked normal and harmless, though. "Utu, lookit 'em," Lethalia bid the miniature dragon to look at the fish swimming by them, tiny enough they could hide close to the shore in the shallow water. A fluttering of her fingers through the edge of the water sent multitudes of them scattering in a cloud that looked like a puff of dust for their numbers. The cliffjumper clung to the cuff of her shorts as they leaned forward, inspecting the fish she'd set fleeing. "These what'cha usually eat?" she asked, because really, she had no idea. It was as good of a guess as any considering where she found them at, right? She figured she might be on the right trackn when Utu's serpentime body wiggled, and Leth couldn't dodge out of the way of their splash quite fast enough. Juniper looked over with a jealous furrow to her brow. Juniper lv|21 ly|21 July|5
