He'd done pretty well, he thought. It was twice that he'd passed by this place and twice that he managed to resist the urge to impulsively dart inside. It was only once he had impulsively bought a puppy sized collar and accompanying leash, and a really cute bandana, and an adorable and fluffy squeaky toy that he decided he really ought to find somebody who would be able to put it all to good use. Funny how these things worked themselves out.
So today, Azrie finally entered the agency. It was clean and cozy, and felt like visiting someone's home. The sheer size of the keeper behind the desk gave him a momentary start, but he was far from off-put by this alone. "Morning!" he called, chipper as ever. "Couldn't resist forever. Oh - one of these forms here?" He picked up the top piece of paper, giving it a quick skim. Seemed kinda unnecessary... all these papers. But the form was blessedly brief. That meant more time with the puppies!

Runa Deadear Mur heard someone come in and turned his head toward the sound. "Welcome," he said, mostly out of habit. After a moment without a response, he sent Cocoa to grab an assistant. A young woman came out from a back room, read the note, and nodded at Runa. 'Come with us. We will help you find a puppy.' She wrote in dainty, perfect script. She would then lead Runa to the area where the puppies were, with Mur following closely behind. EmeryThe sound of footsteps was accompanied by a soft click on the floor. Must be someone looking to adopt! "Hello," Mur said warmly. Once she finished the paperwork and handed it back, he thanked her and led her to the puppies. "Here we are, let me know if you find one you'd like to adopt." Azrie"Good morning," Mur said, returning the greeting. He could tell this particular customer was excited to adopt. Cocoa jumped to her feet and started wagging her tail, feeling the enthusiasm dripping off of him. "Alright, just this way," he said, leading Azrie to the back where the puppies were. "Enjoy! Please tell me which one you'd like."

A grin split Azrie's face as the Houluh beside the desk leaped up to greet him. "You're a beauty, aren't you?" He offered her a hand to sniff. But as Murr led the way into the back, and Azrie understood what he was up against, the mammalian's lips quickly twisted down into a pout. "Which one?" he repeated. He was only just inside and was already surrounded by huge, hopeful eyes, eagerly wagging tails, disproportionately large paws, and tripping hazards of ears. "Does it have to be one?" he joked, though he wasn't sure it was totally a joke.
Already, he could feel his heartstrings pulling. How could he look into any of these eyes or scrunch any of these ears and then walk away from the rest? He let out a huge sigh, then decided there was only one way to make his choice. Careful to avoid looking too closely into any of the kennels, Azrie peeked at each sign instead. Which ones had been here the longest? At last, he found one of the oldest dates, and dared make eye contact with the warm brown puppy inside. "Ohh, how have you been here so long?" He crouched down and extended a few fingers towards the kennel bars. Immediately, they were slathered with a little tongue in greeting. "Okay, it's gonna have to be this one - ah, puppy Z!"

When the young woman emerged and wrote on the paper, Runa nodded and followed after her. She felt her anticipation rising and then suddenly, there they were. Puppies! Puppies of all shades and colors. They were lolling about, some playing with each other, others asleep. In one corner, one of them sat away from the others and Runa felt a twinge. The little thing was beautiful, the red and brown swirls of its pelt a beautiful contrast to the white in it. She approached the cage and the little thing eyed her. She recalled how Gallant had reacted to her moving her fingers together and she repeated the gesture.
The little pup could hear the snap that fell on Runa's deaf ears and tilted its head at her. Runa felt her heart tug again. A few cautious steps forward and the little pup was pressing it's head against her hand as Runa scratched one ear. The wag started small but soon the puppy's entire butt was wiggling in delight and Runa was smiling. She looked over at the woman and Mur to try and get their attention before pointing at the small puppy.
She would have to think of a name. She couldn't call it puppy AM forever, after all.
((OOC: Runa selects Puppy AM))

Emery followed Mur patiently into the play room. Sure enough, there were young houluh of all colors eagerly playing with each other, toppling end over end and yapping. Emery couldn't say she cared for the noise, but she understood that it was an inevitability with baby animals. She wouldn't have to be here for too long, after all. She needed one that best fit her specific needs- nothing too energetic, one that could take commands well. After all, hopefully one of these creatures could act as a guide for her in the future. Sure enough there was one pup that wasn't playing so much as calmly watching from the sidelines while chewing on some manner of rawhide. It had a soft brown coat with hindquarters marbled with white.
She approached it and crouched down in front of it... as well as she could. It immediately seemed interested in her, but instead of jumping all over her it instead patiently sniffed her hand before gently chewing on it with a soft mouth. Perfect. She checked its collar- puppy Y. That would do.
(Emery selects puppy Y.)

AzrieMur smiled warmly. "Yes, one at a time, but you are welcome to come back for more once the requirement is met! But for now, it seems like this one likes you quite a bit." He said, happy to sign off on relinquishing it to Azrie's care. Runa DeadearMurr didn't speak the hand-language, but he could see the enthusiasm and gave Runa a silent thumbs-up. He was always pleased to see a puppy going to a new home, and Cocoa seemed to trust this woman as well. EmeryIt was clear that this potential adopter was a bit more discerning than most, but it looked like she had found a pup that worked well for her. And the one that had been here longest too! It was nice to see it go to a good home.
