Ashe had not participated in the latest craze that had swept the city. Everywhere he looked, people suddenly had... dogs. Houluh, they were called. He had a couple of puppies himself, though he figured they were probably basic, while the rest of the city was out here breeding them like rabbits. He had a notion to look- just look- and see what options there were for him out there. So he headed to the adoption agency that specialized in these pups.
He asked Inyala to wait outside - he wasn't sure how puppies would react to a demon sitting on his shoulder - and headed inside. It looked nice, quiet, and clean in here. Not a single room at Ashe's place was this clean! His pets had access to everything, and left fur and prints everywhere. He glanced around, then walked to the counter where someone was sitting. He opened his mouth to speak, then saw the forms. Yep, he should probably fill one of these out. Once finished, he said, "I would love to see the puppies you have here!"

It occurred to her as she walked around the red brick building that she had never been to this one before. It also occurred to her for a moment that she had come to the wrong building, that this was someone’s house, until she looked up and saw the glaring sign declaring that this house of a building was the right place for those seeking puppies.
A part of her mind had argued earlier with her that houluh were not in fact puppies in the sense she would think of them, these things made by the same labs that created things like the rakai and further blessed by a goddess who apparently loved contests. She had chosen to ignore it then, and she ignored it now as she entered the building, boots tapping on the tile for several steps before coming to a stop, seeing the bloody monster- Uthax. She had seen them before in books, knew them to be ‘people’. But it hadn’t quite prepared her for seeing a real one, and the deep breath she took only helped a little.
Giant person or not, she finished her walk to the desk, pasting on a smile as she greeted them with a, “Howdy.” Her eyes shifted to the forms on the desk, not so different from the ones the APAA had. “I’ll just fill this out real quick,” she said, taking a form and scribbling down the required information. Once that was done, she looked back at the person behind the desk and forced her smile back down from gritting lunatic to something a bit less intense. “All filled out now, ha,” Alma said, ready to hand the paper back, unsure what else to say. “Heard you have a lot of good pups here.”

Ashe;
Murr nodded a little and curled fingers on top of Cacao's back when the Houluh trotted over to help, "Of course, this way please.". The soft voice was somewhat strange, but as the Uthax got up it was evident it was simply to not scare anyone, least of all the pups. A motion to the kennels they had been leading to and a slow nod, "Please let me know if you find one you wish to adopt."
Alma;
More than one in recent times, hmm? Murr nodded, and at a signal Cacao came over to help lead. "Of course, please come this way, and do let me know if you find one you wish to adopt.". Soft voice still managed to fill the room as Murr led the way to the back room with puppies.

Ashe did find it strange that such an intimidating figure would be in charge of cute little puppies, but he wasn't here to judge people and their jobs. This person must do their job well and really like Houluh! So Ashe didn't even entertain those thoughts, and just followed along behind. He did see how the adult Houluh reacted towards this person, and it was all friendly. Good signs.
At the kennels, Ashe gave a smile and a quick "Thanks!" then he headed off to browse the pups. So many! Peering in to Kennel after Kennel, he wondered which would be a good match for him....
And then he saw it. Fluffy and black, it looked right at him as he passed and Ashe had to halt. "Why hello there..." He let the little tongue lick his hand. He felt the soft fur, the soft ears.
Ashe soon returned to the Uthax guardian. "I would like to take puppy AL home with me, if that's alright."

She watched the houluh walk over with some interest, mentally making a note to train a few of her own to respond to gestures or signals instead of just words. Much more impressive that way, and probably more useful for the times they needed to be silent. She stepped away from the desk and responded with a polite “Will do, thanks,” as she followed the Uthax.
And then there were puppies.
All of them looking healthy, all of them seeming in good cheer. None snarling or spitting acid, or doing literally anything to help her pick one over the many others. She crouched in front of a few kennels to look them over, hesitant to do more than that lest she pick the first squirming pup to brush against her fingers. For all her intentions of looking over every single pup before deciding though, one let out a squeaky bark as she straightened up from looking at the fluff ball. She bent back down, and the pup barked at her again before spinning in a circle, ending with its rear poking up in the air and its tail a blur in the air. “Yes?” Alma asked. The pup squeaked again, tail somehow moving even faster.
Alma glanced at the other pups, then back to the wagging one when it barked again. “Fine. I’ll be right back.” She held up a hand to the pup, watching it spin around again before going back to the Uthax. “Think I found the pup I’d like to take home.” She felt oddly guilty as she said it, as though she should have spent hours looking over each houluh. A second later, she hurriedly added, “Puppy AS. Please. I really like them.”

Ashe;
Ah, a decision had been made. Murr nodded slowly and felt for the tag on the kennel with the correct letters. "Of course, Puppy AL will go with Ashe of Zanarkand Kennel. Please let us know when the requirements have been met," the Uthax said with a gentle voice as a collar and leash were put on the little pup.
Alma;
"Of course, Puppy AS will go home with Alma of Bone Chewer Den. Please let us know when the requirements have been met," Murr said, placing a collar and leash over the pup. It had taken a moment to find the correct kennel with the chosen pup, but it ended correctly it would seem.

Eyeing the building before her with interest, she can hear the yipping of dogs, or rather, pups. For as often as she’d been to contests before, she hasn’t exactly ever gone here and adopt a pup like Azelea, couldn’t really. Not without the right permit for doing such a thing. But she had send in a application form for it, and it came through today, so now here she is. Grinning she takes the last steps needed to get to the front door in a slightly faster pace, she couldn’t see the pups here on the outside somewhere at the fencing right now, as it might still be a little cold for them in today’s weather, but she’s certain from the way she had heard people talk about this place before in a café, that she’d end up seeing them in a large room in the back. Opening the door she is greeted by the sight of chairs against the walls with tables, some with magazines, but a few where theirs is likely in the pile located on a different table from what she can tell. Closing the door behind her, she heads to what is the most likely registration desk with a large being sitting behind it, and the hindquarters of an older dog peeking out of the side of the desk as they are resting. ‘ Is he an Uthax?’ She wonders as she hasn’t exactly seen one before like him. “Hello sir. Good afternoon.” She calls out to him with a soft smile as she gets a registration form, as he quite clearly appears masculine. Filling it out carefully while hearing the yips of pups from somewhere in the room beyond this one, and placing the permit necessary to be allowed to adopt right next to the form. “I’ve got it all filled up now. Is there anything else I should do in order to see if I could adopt a puppy today? That is of course if any of them would take a liking to me.”

It had been busy lately, though Murr didn't mind at all. They didn't even correct this newcomer on gender as they subtly motioned for Cacao to come and assist, it was easy to mistake them for a certain one due to size alone. "Of course," came the soft, smooth voice, "Follow me to see who we have today." Cacao led Murr to the curtain as the large Uthax pulled it back to let the person through.

“Thank you!” She says cheerfully to him, coming into the room that houses the puppies she feels her smile grow bigger at the sight of seeing so many of them in the kennels romping around their room and in general acting exactly like one would expect from young pups.
She peers into the cages, letting them sniff her hand when they come close, or petting their head when she has her hand go between the bars of the cage.
Most of them brown mixed with white and different patterns. Very few seem to have black in them from what she can tell. But all are either cheerfully playing or taking a nap after that. Their barks more like sharp yips calling for attention that have yet to get the deeper tones of adulthood.
But one feels for her like they stand out from the crowd of puppies, and while she would have likened to say it is their personality that seems to spark her interest, it rather is their coat.
She hasn’t seen such a perfect blend before, and the puppy is excited in her presence.
“I’d like to take this one with me, the puppy labeled.” She peers at the name plate for a second. “AB, the puppy AB please. Would that be alright?” She questions as she turns her attention to the large Uthax.

It seemed this was becoming a pattern for the satyr. When they had ventured to the Labs, they had expected to be able to find a straggling companion or two. They certainly had not expected the vast number of creatures that were advertised, be they for sale, trade, free adoption... it seemed there was a different flyer on every corner. Some instinct told Zenjesi that they were getting in over their head. And yet, here they were, creeping their way into another adoption agency. It was a large, tidy room, and they felt instantly uncomfortable. The walk to the counter seemed infinite, and they kept their head bowed as they approached. It wasn't until reaching the counter that Zenjesi realized they hadn't exactly planned what to say, but found to their great relief that verbal words may not be necessary. They picked up a form with a polite (if awkward) nod to the Uthax behind the counter and scribbled upon it for a few moments before passing it over with an uncomfortable attempt at a smile.

Twilight-Claw;
"Ah yes, that's quite an attractive choice." Murr said, agreeing with the selection- the pup did have a very beautiful coat. "Of course, Puppy AB will go home with Twilight-Claw of Illumines Demesne. Please let us know when the requirements have been met."
Zenjesi;
Murr smiled warmly at the satyr that walked in through the door. Based on the hesitation, he guessed that they were a newcomer- always a good thing to see. Cacao trotted up to them and sniffed around their heels while wagging her tail widely. "Looks like she likes you." He said with a chuckle before pulling aside the curtain. "You can see our current selection through here- and please let me know if there's any you'd like to adopt."

The appearance of a houluh from behind the counter startled Zenjesi slightly. They made a mental note that perhaps it was worthwhile to scan the room in the future, even if there were sentient creatures present. In this case, it was a welcome surprise. Zenjesi accepted the opportunity to greet the houluh rather than the Uthax directly. "I like her," they responded in their distinctive whisper. Offering her one more pat, and the Uthax another nod of acknowledgement, Zenjesi slipped into the back rooms. They stopped short, staring around at the sheer number of puppies present, and momentarily overwhelmed by the yappy, bouncing orbs of fur. How to choose? They began to pick their way, one by one, peering at the puppy itself, then at the placards on each kennel. Clearly these meant something to someone, but... if they were of particularly good stock, Zenjesi couldn't say. Only one way to choose... Zenjesi settled down on their haunches finally in front of one of them, then gave a firm nod. "This one." They looked up to the Uthax. "Puppy AN."

Murr nodded her large head and felt the markings on the tag, "Puppy AN will go to Zenjesi of Willow-Veil Circle, I'm sure you will give them a good home." A large hand plucked the puppy out of the kennel and into a carrier for the adopter to take home.
