[Arvest: Stay - 4]
With things going the way they were, she doubted she would get anything from the River today, but that was fine at the same time, it didn't necessarily matter right now anyway. Sighing a little, she looked at the puppy and then backed away, "Stay, Arvest." The woman watched him as he took a step forward and then stopped and sat down, probably to stop himself from moving forward anymore. Grinning, she tossed him a treat, "Very good, boyo." Nothing would get in the way of them getting trained and Arvest growing up. She picked out show names for her Houluh when they were born, and his seemed to fit. Bring on Autumn, it would go well right now, wouldn't it? Jack smiled a little and went over to pat him on the head, at least he was learning pretty quickly, she didn't know what to do before all this was done anyway. Shortly after training the very basics, they would just fish for a bit.

[Arvest: Stay - 5]
Giving him one last pat on the head and back, the woman backed away again and looked at him, "Stay, Arvest." Arvest stayed there like a good boy, wagging his tail a little while he watched her move around. "Very good stay, Arvest!" the woman told him and went over to stroke his back a little. She was going to hate the next training, but he needed to learn no like all the others, didn't he? Jack sighed a little and sat down next to him, wondering what to do and how to do it. Surely she would do it the same way for now, but wasn't sure what else to do at the moment. Well then, it would all be alright in the end she knew, but for now she hoped that the pup would forgive her afterwards, maybe it would go well for her right now, but who knew.

[Arvest: No - 1]
Life was at least going to be interesting with the Houluh grown up soon enough, and she still wondered if it would happen tonight or some other night. Either way, she would be proud of him no matter what. Smiling at the puppy, she patted him on the head and then placed the bag of treats next to her. Arvest almost immediately went for them and she lightly tapped him on the nose, "No!" He whimpered and pawed at his nose even though it had barely stung, and narrowed his eyes a little. A bark happened, and then another, and then he just stood there yipping. She tapped him on the nose again, "No Arvest!" Jack narrowed her eyes and glared at the puppy who sulked back a little bit and gave one last yip. Things would be alright, she just had to get him through this training and it would be fine.

[Arvest: No - 2]
Jack cracked her knuckles as the puppy edged toward the treats again. She tapped him on the nose, "No, Arvest!" He backed away again, pouting, and wondered what was going to happen for a little while. This wasn't fair, why couldn't he get the treats when they were RIGHT THERE? It just didn't make sense to him, but he didn't want to get tapped again and that word said at him. Everything was going to work out, she knew, but she hated training this no matter what happened. All would be alright, but she didn't care too much for the feelings part of this whole training thing. She would hurt his feelings a little, which upset her to no end, but hey, it was part of it. She checked her line for a moment and then looked back at him with a sigh. Arvest was attempting to edge toward the treat bag again.

[Arvest: No - 3]
As he edged forward, the woman popped him on the nose again, "No Arvest!" The puppy whimpered again and ran off to hide behind a boulder, which made her sigh a little. This was hard, but she called him over and wondered if this was worth it. Of course it meant that he wouldn't do what she didn't want him to do, and that was good enough for her at the moment. Jack just hoped this training would scar him too badly. Reaching backwards in the air, she popped her shoulders and sighed a little, she didn't like doing this but she had to or else who knows what her animals would get into. That was the issue between it, she knew, and she sighed a little as she worked for things at the moment. AT least she had something to do other than fish, she could also train, which is what she wanted to do anyway.

[Arvest: No - 4]
Arvest looked at the woman, who seemed distracted, and then looked over at the treats again. Slowly he sneaked forward to see if he could reach them before she realized, but he was met with a resounding, "No, Arvest!" It just seemed cruel to bait animals like that, but she didn't know another way to do it. None of hers really did anything bad it would seem, at least not to the extent others spoke of. Sighing, the woman shook her head and finally tossed Arvest a treat, wondering what to do for him when the time came. Hopefully he would grow up lovely, but she knew she would Patronne him no matter how much she might want him to Matronne, if she even did want that, she really didn't know. Oh well, it was fine, and at least the training was going well so far, she couldn't imagine it going any better.

[Arvest: No - 5]
It was going well, no matter how she felt about the training at least. Giving a little sigh, she watched him inch toward the treats and gave him a look, "No, Arvest." The puppy pouted and plopped down where he was, putting his head on his paws and whining a little. At least it seemed like he got it, she wasn't sure what would happen if he hadn't. That would just delay the training and make it that much more worse, she figured with a frown on her face. Whatever, he'd gotten it and now she could focus a little on fishing. This would work out well, she figured with a little smile on her face as she moved over to the fishing pole. It wasn't like she didn't want anything, she wanted lots of things, but sometimes it just didn't work out too well, which was rough on her right now.

She would give him a break, he was a puppy after all. It depended on the Houluh, but sometimes she gave them a break and sometimes she didn't, this was one who probably needed one though, if only to get out his energy a little bit. She was pleased with his progress, and as he wandered off to explore a little, she wondered if she should teach him a little more while they were waiting. No... she would wait a bit and then she would teach him how to tell the difference between plants and shells. Thanks the spirits for the ring she had that helped her to talk to all Houluh, she didn't have to get a Ribbon for all of them anymore, which definitely helped out in the long run. Giving a little sigh, she picked up her fishing pole and got to work reeling in the line again.

Arvest wasn't sure what to make of the woman at the moment, she was firm, but nice it seemed, but he didn't know what to do with her sometimes. It was nice to take a break from learning though, his head was starting to hurt, and so he climbed up some rocks and plopped down on his belly to soak up the sun a little bit. It was kind of hidden behind some clouds, it looked a little like rain, but the woman had told him not to worry, so worry he wouldn't. That only made sense to those who truly knew her, maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't, but at least if she said not to worry, then she would have a plan. Jack smiled at him as she looked at him, and she wondered what to do for him at the moment. It wasn't like he had a lot to play with.

Jack watched her line for a moment or two as she drifted off into her own mind. Arvest was up right now, and then it would be Ladybird. The female Houluh was incredibly pretty, and she knew she would grow up to be stunning. She just hoped that everything would go well and that she could get through Arvest before diving into working with Ladybird. As she thought about it, she sighed a little and rubbed her face with her free hand, she didn't know what to do for herself or for Arvest right now, and it was a little frustrating when she thought about it. She glanced over at him again and smiled, at least he was pretty cute, she had to give him that much she supposed. Whatever, things would be fine in the long run, and she settled back against her own boulder to keep fishing, or at least for now.

There wasn't much for her to do except for wait for fish to catch on the line, hopefully the line wouldn't break this time. Sighing, she wished Arvest was sitting a little closer, and wondered what he might be dreaming about now that he had fallen asleep. Giving a little chuckle, she watched his side rise and fall with each breath and wondered when he would be getting bigger before he grew to an adult. Maybe then it would easiest to train him the rest of what she wanted to train him, but she doubted that as well. All she could do was hope that things would work out for them at some point today, and then maybe everything would be better off. Part of her had her doubts, however, it had been a rough year for everyone and everything it seemed, so she didn't know what to expect from life right now.

Jack felt as though everything had been ripped from her, but she couldn't imagine what it was. It was frustrating and she really needed a friend, but everyone always seemed to be busy and so it was just her no matter what happened. It was fine, she'd been through some tough times alone, and she could get through this alone as well, but at least she had her animals, and she looked over at the little sleeping Houluh with a smile on her face. That was certainly something new for her, and she wondered what she would do if everything else ripped out from under her. That was the issue, she supposed, and part of her really wished for things to happen right for once. Whatever, she just needed to focus on fishing right now, that was it, and she reeled in her line and re-cast it into the water to see if anything caught.

The water ripples and splashes, but brings you nothing of interest yet.

Well… nothing seemed to be biting, and the puppy was laying on the nearest boulder, soaking up the sun in his sleep. Jack sighed a little and wrapped an arm around her belly, it was starting to get a little chilly outside, Fall was right around the corner, Summer ending and all that. Jack sighed a little and shook her head, wondering what she was going to do when it started to get cold out. Usually her hip started to ache, but it wasn’t anymore, not since her leg had come off, and that was fine for her, she decided with a smile. She wasn’t supposed to get this done yet, she wasn’t supposed to be finished with the pup or anything, but she wasn’t all that concerned about it yet. They weren’t done, not by a long shot, and she was alright with that, she needed to spend time with her Houluh anyway at this point, right?

Arvest was having a little puppy dream it seemed when she looked over at him to see if he was awake. He was whimpering and attempting to run while laying down, and he looked pretty cute if she said so herself. She had gotten lucky with him, he was pretty cute, and she knew that it was going to be great no matter what, right? Jack pushed her hair back and eyed the line in the water with a sigh. She didn’t know when they would find something, she figured they would have a little while ago, but nothing had bitten and no shells had popped up anywhere. Oh well, it didn’t really matter in the long run, she knew with another sigh. Jack just hoped that everything would turn out well, and she wished that she knew what to do with her Houluh other than to breed them. They were fun to breed though, all the markings seemed to not be completely random and all that.
