[Arvest: Name - 1]
Time for a new pup, and this time they were at the River again. She could handle that, right? At least she only had one of them at a time, she didn't think she could handle more than one at least for now. Smiling, she looked down at the pup as they were at her favorite spot and then tapped him on the head, "Arvest!" The puppy looked around wildly, but when his eyes fell on her, she gave him a treat before setting up her fishing pole in the water. She was going to rely on the pole doing most of the fishing today, until she got Arvest trained up of course, that was the best part of training something to fish on their own, she supposed, though she'd never taught anything to do that yet. Oh well, she would be able to figure it out eventually, she knew, but she had to do this first.

[Arvest: Name - 2]
The little grey pup was adorable and looked a lot like his father, but that was fine. Arvest had a little tan on him though, whereas Kanellos didn't have any. So she wondered if he had some new kind of gene she hadn't seen yet. Probably not, but it was nice to think of, maybe he just had tan points, that was more like it she figured with a little chuckle. She had to admit, he was the cutest out of the litter, at least in her mind. "Arvest!" she called to him again, this time without tapping him on the head, but he looked around, confused for a moment or two, but when he looked at her she gave him another treat to reinforce the thought in his mind. This was great, she knew he was going to do his best, and she hoped to get him enough experience to learn a few things.

[Arvest: Name - 3]
She wondered how many times he could breed before he retired, she of course would learn that when he grew up to an adult, but that wasn't the point she decided with a little smile on her face. Shaking her head, she hoped that things would work out for them in the long run, but wasn't sure if they would. Of course he would be trained a little, like the others were definitely, but... what did that really mean? Shaking her head, she called to him again, "Arvest!" The little pup looked to the side for a moment before slowly turning and looking at her, getting another treat for a good job. She wasn't sure what to do with him, but she had a list at the moment to teach him, which was better than she had for some of them she knew. She was going to teach him to help her out at the River!

[Arvest: Name - 4]
Jack glanced over at her line with a small smile on her face, she wasn't sure what to do, she really wanted to focus on fishing, but she had to train up the little Houluh first, which was irritating nonetheless. Oh well, when he grew up a little she could teach him some more fun things, but for now they had to work on the basics. "Arvest!" she called again, and the pup looked at her first, which earned him an even bigger treat than he'd gotten so far. He was thrilled and gnawed on them a little as he tried to chew it up with his little needle puppy teeth. Jack chuckled a little as she watched him, and she wondered what was going to happen if she fattened up her Houluh too much. That wouldn't do, they were sleek as it was, she had several back at the Kennel at least who were.

[Arvest: Name - 5]
Arvest was busy doing puppy things when she called to him again, "Arvest!" However, he looked right over at her and got another treat and a pat on the head for learning so easily. Jack plopped down at her fishing line and yawned, she was done for now, she wanted to be done for now at least, but they had to keep going for the moment. There was so much more to be done before he could do his show, and she really wanted to be done with it in a single day. Was that even doable? Frowning, she realized she had no idea, even Moonbeam's had taken two days, but that was fine, she knew she could get stuff done if she wanted to, she just needed the motivation to do it, and growing a Houluh wasn't necessarily the best motivation, she figured with a little frown on her face.

[Arvest: Come - 1]
Right then, they could probably continue. Jack checked on her line for a moment and didn't see anything, but that was fine. She backed away from the puppy before he noticed and called to him, "Arvest, come here!" The puppy ran to her when he saw her and gave a little yip. Grinning, she patted him on the head and gave him a little treat for doing a good job. Everything would be fine, she knew, and the woman rubbed his back while he ate. She wondered if she was going about this the wrong way and all that, but she didn't know what was going to happen between them of course. Giving a little smile, she figured that was the fun of working with a new creature and all that, the uncertainty. Whatever happened, at least she would be alright at the same time, he couldn't do anything worse to her than she'd already had done.

[Arvest: Come - 2]
This would be fine in the end she knew, and the woman smiled at the thought. He would be trained a little differently than the others at the moment which was totally fine as well she figured with a little chuckle. Moving back from him after checking her line once more, she called to him, "Arvest, come here!" The little pup looked at her and yipped before charging after her as fast as his little legs could take him. Laughing, she stroked his back and fed him his treat, hoping everything would go well for the training they were going to do in the future. Maybe he would grow today, maybe he wouldn't, it was hard to tell at this point, she knew, and she smiled a little as she thought about him all big like his father. Maybe Kanellos would be pleased and proud, maybe he wouldn't, but she bet it would be the former.

[Arvest: Come - 3]
The line wasn't getting any attention, which was a shame, but she had expected it at this point. Giving a little shrug, she sighed and shook her head, oh well, it didn't really matter in the long run she knew. "Come here Arvest!" Jack said after backing away from the Houluh. Little Arvest looked around and then trotted over to her, getting a treat for doing a good job. She couldn't wait to see what he would look like fully grown, she had a feeling he was going to be gorgeous. Maybe he would only have a few breedings, who knew at this point, she knew with a smile. It would come out whenever she got his genetics and all that. Hopefully things would work out for him, and she frowned a little as she thought about it. Maybe he would Matronne... she really didn't know, it would be odd to have two Patronne who looked so similar.

[Arvest: Come - 4]
Jack had no doubt that Arvest would do well, but she had to get him trained up first, and that was always an issue. Smiling a little, she backed away after checking her line again and nodded. "Come here, Arvest!" she called again, and the Houluh immediately came over, getting a treat for doing so well. She was sure proud of him, no matter what happened, but she hoped that everything would be well by the time the training was over. She sighed a little at that as she rubbed her back and looked over at her line. Nothing was biting, this was usually a pretty good spot, but she was usually fishing personally and not just letting her line dangle in the water as well. Whatever, it didn't really matter right now she knew, and she hoped that everything would turn out no matter what happened in the long run.

[Arvest: Come - 5]
Arvest was learning pretty well for a little puppy, and she hoped that things would work out for her at the moment. She wondered what was going to happen for her in the future, how many Houluh was she going to end up with anyway? Giving a chuckle, she shook her head and sighed, she was a little out of control with this it would seem. "Come here Arvest!" she called when he got a little too far away in his wanderings, and back he came running, stumbling over his big feet as he came to her. Jack laughed at his antics and then reached down to rub the top of his head. Little Arvest barked excitedly and then started to chase his tail. At least he was a little more lively than Kanellos had been as a puppy, and even as an adult. This would be good for them both.

Something's on the line! It tugs and tugs and tugs. It feels like it's going to pull the pole right into the water with it. The water ripples ferociously with movement, stirring up mud and making it impossible to see the catch.
That is, until there was a sudden snap. One end of the line swims away and the other dangles miserably from the end of the pole. Well, that was unfortunate. Now the pole has to be restrung, ugh.

[Arvest: Stay - 1] Jack was happy with the way things were going with the pup until she turned and saw her line had snapped while she wasn't paying attention! Oh well, that's what she got for it. "Stay, Arvest," Jack told the puppy sternly as she walked away, but the Houluh followed after her until she snapped, "Stay!" He stopped what he was doing and stood there until she tossed him a treat and then turned to tend her line. She undid the entire roll of line from her fishing pole and tossed it into her bag before fishing out another one and hooking it on. There, that would do better. Well she hadn't found anything, but hey, at least she had done a little maintenance to her pole, it had been awhile and she needed to do it anyway. Line was only good for so long anyway, and she was sure things would go alright from now on. [11 Jack: 6/20 Arvest: 2 1/5; 4 1/5]

[Arvest: Stay - 2]
Arvest was pouting a little, even as he ate his treat. The woman didn't have to yell at him like that... But then she moved on to doing something with her gear, so he supposed it might not be a bad thing to stay back. He sniffed around and maybe got a little too close when the woman said it again, "Stay, Arvest." He paused for a moment before moving again, and was met with another sharp, "Stay!" Arvest pouted again and looked up at her, wondering what was wrong. Though when he stayed put, he got another treat, which was surprising to him at the moment. Huh, maybe he should stay in one spot? That might be it, and he wondered if he could work with that a little bit, at least he was getting treats this way and all that. Giving a little yip, he bounced around after a little while to play.

[Arvest: Stay - 3]
Jack looked over her line one more time and then nodded and walked off a little, a treat in her hand. This was how she trained animals how to stay, she knew, but it still bothered her a little to dangle a treat in front of them without giving it to them right away. That was... the entirety of training, however, so she had better get over it soon. Jack rubbed her neck and then told the puppy, "Stay, Arvest." Arvest stood there for a moment or two, and right as Jack was about to toss him the treat, he moved once more. She eyed him and he stopped until he got the treat, staying in one spot until he had eaten. There, that wasn't so bad, she knew it wasn't like anything was going to happen to him if he didn't listen, but it could be bad if it did at the moment.
