[Ladybird: Heel – 2]
All she knew was it would be easier to walk her around in the arena if she knew how to heel, which was the point of the whole training at this time. Jack just wished there was something else she could do for her to make her understand, other than her ring. The little puppy had a hard time understanding things sometimes, which made sense, most of the puppies did after all. ”Heel, Ladybird!” she told her again with a smile as she pulled her to her side as they walked. Ladybird tripped over herself a few times, but perked up a little as she was fed a few treats. This was great, just getting treats for walking, though she didn’t understand the difference between training and just walking as of yet. She was sure the little one would get it eventually though, she had to be happy about that much. At least Ladybird was understanding just a little bit though, and she would get there soon enough, the woman was sure of it.

[Ladybird: Heel – 3]
All she had to do was keep walking and feeding her treats, that was easy enough, she figured with a little smile on her face. Jack pushed her hair back with a smile and fed her a few treats as they walked around, Ladybird at her side and a small amount of slack in the leash at this point. ”Heel, Ladybird,” the woman told her again as they walked, and she trotted forward to be by her side, an excellent thing to happen at this point in training. She wasn’t sure this was going to go well after that first part, but now she was sure it would, and that was what mattered now, right? Jack grinned a little and stopped walking for a bit, giving the little puppy a chance to lay down and rest for a little while. She had done a lot of learning in a short amount of time, and she didn’t blame her for wanting a rest. Honestly Jack kind of wanted to as well.

[Ladybird: Heel – 4]
Whatever the case, she unclipped the leash from her collar and then patted her leg as she started to move again, ”Heel, Ladybird!” The woman smiled as the Houluh puppy ran forward to trot at her side easily, and she wondered if they could actually be done with this yet. No, not yet, there was still the testing to do, she knew as she fed her a little treat, do it without the promise of a treat and then it would be alright in the end. Jack pushed her hair back again and then shook it out with a smile on her face. She checked her line in the water and shrugged, nothing was going to happen if she didn’t get to fishing, but that could wait at the moment anyway, right? Whatever, she was happy to be doing what she was doing at the moment, and no one could convince her otherwise at this point, right?

[Ladybird: Heel – 5]
”Heel, Ladybird!” she said again with a smile as the woman started to move again, and the little puppy trotted up beside her and kept pace as best as she could, sometimes having to hurry a little faster in order to keep up with the woman’s long strides. This was fine, she knew that things would work out for her in the long run, and she was pleased with the puppy’s progress already. She just wished there was more they could work on at the moment, that was the point of all of this, wasn’t it? But there were other things to do right now, like checking her line and checking her items she was going to use in the next round of training, which would start soon enough, she just had to check on them and all that. She leaned down and rubbed Ladybird’s head with a smile, she couldn’t wait to see her all grown up already.

Things were calming down a little back at the Kennel, there had been quite the uproar for a little while it would seem. She didn’t know why though, and that’s what bothered her a little. Oh well though, she supposed it didn’t really matter in the long run, and she hoped there wasn’t much else she could do about it right now. Jack smiled and patted Ladybird on the head, watching Houluh grow was interesting, and her markings were coming out rather well too it would seem. Smiling at her, she went over to check her bobber and saw there were still no fish on the line. Oh well, maybe she should teach the puppy how to look for shells, but that would cut into the rest of their training, she knew, which wouldn’t work out for her in the long run unfortunately. Whatever happened, this needed to be fixed though, and she frowned as she thought about it.

Now that she wasn’t going to train here for a little bit, maybe she should focus on her fishing, but that wasn’t really a thing to do much for either. Ah well, she really should, she never knew when the Trader would take fish for crystals and all that, which wasn’t a bad thing, but it was something she needed to think about no matter what. She could also sell them to the shop and get a few credits, which would be really nice all the same as well. Maybe she should bring Bigfoot with her next time she worked at the river, it would be interesting to see how he interacted with Houluh at least. Jack glanced over at the puppy with a little smile and wondered what was going to happen between them, she really wanted to teach her to be a herding Houluh, but didn’t know what she would be herding at this point. Well, she would figure it out and all would be well, but right now she needed to check on a few things.

With the line in the water still, she moved it around a little to see if she might get a bite before she went and looked over her equipment. If Ladybird was going to be a herding and fair Houluh, then she was going to have to get used to a lot of things. There was a little kennel there next to the rocks and a blanket on top of it. There was also a blindfold and a few vials of blood in her bag, as well as an airhorn and several little piles of rocks around the area. She had a good idea of what she was going to train her, it was just the actual training that got to be an issue sometimes. Jack smiled though, she wasn’t sure what she was going to do first, but she should get to working with her sooner or later. It was something that was going to have to happen no matter what, after all!

Still, however, she couldn’t ignore her fishing, and she hoped that things would work out for her in the end. It was all good, however, it was just a shame she hadn’t found or caught anything just yet. This spot was turning into a bit of a bust, which was fine at the same time, she didn’t really need to find anything, it was just definitely nice and a good way to break up the time she spent with her animals a little bit. Jack pushed her hair back and sat down for a little while, the puppy at her side for a few moments before she went off to explore again. She wished there was an easier way for her to do this, but… there wasn’t much she could do right now. Of course she wanted there to be an easier way, everything was always so hard for her to do, and she hoped there was something she could do to fix it sometime.

Jack had a good feeling about today though, she was sure she would be able to do Ladybird’s show at this point, and she was feeling pretty good about things. As she looked over the items she was going to use to train the pup, she told herself it was all for the best, and she smiled a little as she thought about it. She would be pretty good in the field, right up there with Luna if she stuck with her training, though she didn’t think anyone would come to be the same quality as Luna was. The oldest Houluh in her Kennel, the woman was pleased with how she had turned out, definitely, and she had been bred and so had her lines. The puppy with her was her granddaughter, actually, and she kept forgetting that because she was so red, but she was Red’s daughter, so that shouldn’t surprise her. She was a good girl though, maybe she would be as good as her grandmother, it was hard to say.

[Ladybird: Accept Enclosed Spaces – 1]
This was going to take some doing, the woman knew, but that was alright. Teaching an animal to be alright with being in a small space was difficult but doable, and the woman smiled a little as she looked at the puppy. This would be fine, Ladybird would do well and then they would work on accepting darkness, and then who knew what else. She just wished there was something she could do a little more about it at the moment. Jack called her over to her and then gently pushed her into the little kennel, shutting the door behind her. Ladybird’s tail went between her legs and she cowered in the corner, but Jack cooed at her and fed her some treats between the bars to show it wasn’t all that bad. It would be easier to travel distances with her if she was in a kennel, plus she wouldn’t mind being between some Murp or something if she did this right.

[Ladybird: Accept Enclosed Spaces – 2]
She supposed it would be alright in the end if the puppy didn’t like it but at least worked with it. She wasn’t asking her to enjoy it, just… accept the inevitable, she figured with a little smile. Jack pushed her hair back and cooed to the little puppy as she cowered in the kennel, but her tail was wagging just a little in between her legs, which might be a good sign. She glanced at her line again for a moment, saw there was nothing on it, and then re-focused on the puppy again. Everything was going well, and as she fed the puppy some more treats, she wondered if this was really the best idea she had for the animal, but it had to do something for her, she couldn’t walk the whole way in the end, right? Jack frowned a bit, hoping this would make a little more sense to her as it went.

[Ladybird: Accept Enclosed Spaces – 3]
Jack was sure Ladybird would be fine, she was starting to relax a little and she knew that meant good things. She wasn’t as tense, which was just fine by her, and the woman smiled a little as she thought about things. This was good for her, in case she got corralled by Murp or something else like that, and she hoped she wasn’t going to have to deal with things at the moment. Whatever the case, the woman tried to feed her some more treats through the bars, which the puppy took, her tail slowly dropping from between her legs. This was a good sign, the woman knew, and she reached through the bars with a finger and stroked her soft head, something that the little puppy enjoyed more than anything. She was sure things would work out for her in the end, but she just had to get there. Though she did hate this was more like torture than anything else.

[Ladybird: Accept Enclosed Spaces – 4]
The line bobbed in the water and the woman sighed a little, wishing something would happen with it. She had to find a fish or something eventually, right? It just made sense to find some fish in the water, or even some shells on the beach of the river, but there was nothing so far. Maybe she needed Arvest to come fishing with her again, that might work well for her, she knew. Jack stretched out and fed a few more treats to Ladybird through the bars, she was stretched out now though still a bit tense, and the woman could certainly tell at this point. Whatever happened, the woman smiled a little as she thought about what a good working dog this Houluh would be, and she hoped to continue to work with her as time went on. She just hoped everything would go well for her, though she didn’t know what to expect from things at the moment.

[Ladybird: Accept Enclosed Spaces – 5]
The Houluh was pretty calm by now, the tip of her tail was even wagging a bit, which was certainly a good sign no matter how you looked at it. Jack smiled and fed her one last treat before laying back on the sand and staring at the cloudless sky. It was interesting, seeing what there was in the world, and she hoped to get to exploring again at some point. Maybe her wanderlust was finally kicking in again, it hadn’t for quite some time, but she wanted something new at this point, she just didn’t know what it should be or anything like that. Giving a little frown, she glanced over at the puppy who wagged her tail and barked, ready to be out of the little kennel. Not yet though, there were other things to do for the moment that required her to not bolt, Jack just hoped she would get over things sooner rather than later.

While she did hope to get this training done rather quickly, she was also hoping to get some fish and the like from the river this season. She knew there were different things in the river at this point, and she smiled a little as she thought of it for a little while. Hopefully things would be fine, and she glanced over at the pup who had grown a little as they had trained (luckily) to be more gorgeous than before, if that was even possible. The marking on her chest was lovely as well, she had a couple with that mark, and it was one of her favorites it seemed. Jack smiled and closed her eyes for a few moments, wishing she could just take a nap and get this over with, maybe then it would be time to go do her show. While she could do this in her sleep, it probably wasn’t a good idea.
