Everything was fine right now, Ladybird was still in the kennel, of course, but that was the best way she could think of keeping her in one spot as the training went on. Jack smiled a little and wondered what to do for her, whether or not this was going to be a good thing or not. Whatever happened, she was sure it would be good for the pup to learn this stuff, though she didn’t know if the pup would agree. This was the issue with training, she could see the use in all of this, but they really didn’t most of the time unless it was to attack or defend or something like that. All of this extra stuff she taught, they didn’t see the point in all of it at the moment. Jack pushed her hair back a little and smiled as she thought about her future. At the moment it was blank, but she hoped to fill it in as she went, there was always something to do.

Ladybird was a little confused. She didn’t mind being in the kennel, but that didn’t mean she liked it. That only meant there were other things to do while she was inside of it, which worried her a little as she thought about it. Frowning, the woman patted her on the head with a finger as she looked over at her, seemingly a little stressed out. This would be fine, it was part of the training, and the woman looked back at her rod and line, wondering when something might attach itself to it. This was the boring part of fishing, she knew, waiting for something to bite, and she hoped that it was all going to work out in the long run. Jack chewed on her lip, hoping something might happen, it would be so much easier in the rainy season for a storm to come along and break up the monotony.

Though she had some idea of what to do, she didn’t know the order to do it in. That was an issue, she knew, and she frowned a little as she thought about it for the moment. There was so much more to go that she hated taking a break, but she knew she needed to if they were going to get this done in any kind of hurried fashion. There wasn’t a point in hurrying too much at the moment, she knew for a reason. Hurried plans always fell through, and she wished that everything would be fine in the end. Whatever happened, she was pleased with it at the moment, and she smiled as she thought of everything right now. Well, the pup might not be pleased, but at least she wasn’t begging to get out, which was definitely a plus for her at the moment, right? It meant some of the training stuck.

While she tried to think of what to do next, the pup was laying in the kennel as well. The sand was warm under the both of them, and they both sighed at the same time as they laid there. Jack was sure things would be alright in the long run, though it was hard for her to understand what was going wrong with the pup if she wouldn’t talk. That was fine though, the woman thought for a moment, and she smiled a little as she tried to think of what to do. No matter what, at least things would be interesting for a little while as the training went on it’s way, and she hoped to do her show tonight if all went well. Jack just knew that things would work out in the long run, and she hoped that it would be alright in the long run no matter what. All she had to do was figure out what to do next, which shouldn’t be all that hard to do when it was all said and done.

[Ladybird: Accept Darkness – 1]
Finally, Jack sat up and sighed. She wasn’t done with this yet, but she needed to focus on the pup for the moment. Still nothing had attached to the line, which she was fine with, but she needed to get something if she was going to be ultimately happy with this trip as well. She took the blanket she had and draped it over the kennel, listening to Ladybird whine a little. The woman cooed to her as she sat next to her, telling her it would be alright and all of that as time went on. She hoped the pup wouldn’t hate her for all of this, though she probably would at the same time. Jack just knew that everything would be alright in the end, though the whining of the pup really put a bad taste in her mouth at the moment. Jack had an issue with torturing animals, and this definitely felt like she was doing it.

[Ladybird: Accept Darkness – 2]
Of course it wasn’t really torture, that was just something she knew to equate it with, unfortunately. As she listened to the pup whine in the darkened kennel, she hoped that everything would be alright in the long run. Hopefully she wouldn’t hate her for doing this to her, and she would understand it was just for her own good in the end of it. Jack knew that would be a hard thing to understand for a little pup though, so maybe when she was older it would stick with her or something. Every now and then the pup would bark and Jack’s heart would break. She talked to her and let a little light into the kennel every now and then, but for the most part it was pitch black inside. This wouldn’t let her see in the dark, but at least it would mean she wasn’t scared of the dark.

[Ladybird: Accept Darkness – 3]
Without a doubt, this was some of the worst training she had ever done. At least Ladybird was used to the small space, but she knew this was part of what needed to happen if she was going to be a herding Houluh. Everything would be fine, life was interesting at the moment no matter what she thought after all, and the woman was happy to see that the pup was getting used to it. She slipped a few treats under the blanket and then patted the kennel top to shake her up a little bit. All she got was munching sounds and a bark in return, making her laugh a little. Ladybird was having none of her moods it seemed like, and she chuckled a little as she thought about it at the moment. Well, at least she was no nonsense, which was good in a farm dog, she knew.

[Ladybird: Accept Darkness – 4]
Jack wasn’t sure how much longer this needed to happen, but she was happy either way, she knew. Without much to go on though, she knew that Ladybird was doing well, considering the whining and barking had stopped. Hopefully that meant she was getting used to it in there with the darkness around her. This would be rough when she took the blanket off though and it got really bright in there again. Jack sighed a little and patted the kennel again, listening for the pup to bark, which she did, only lightly at the moment. Everything was fine, she knew, and the woman had no problem getting things done for now and all that. As long as the training was going on, then she wasn’t too worried about things, not like she really needed to be anyway it would seem. Jack had a lot to go on though, she had done this training a few times with other animals.

[Ladybird: Accept Darkness – 5]
Life was weird, she knew, and while she hoped that Ladybird wouldn’t resent her a little for doing this, she had a feeling she would. After listening to the lack of whines and barks for awhile, and after sneaking over and checking on her line a few times, she pulled the blanket off of the kennel and Ladybird blinked her eyes hard a few times. It was so bright now compared to what it had been, she could barely handle it. Oh well, she would get used to it again, she figured as she sat up and yawned big. Jack chuckled a little and rubbed her head through the bars of the kennel and wondered what to do next. It would be alright, she knew, and she touched her node pouch for a moment to make sure it was still there, a nervous habit she had acquired ever since her first node.

It was alright, Ladybird didn’t seem to be scarred, at least not yet. She chuckled to herself and laid down on the sand again, as did Ladybird, who also yawned. Giving it her all, she knew that this training would stick with the little pup, and she hoped that everything would go well for her after a long while no matter what. She eyed her line and then got up and started to move it, figuring it was time to move to a slightly different spot if her line was stuck in the same spot. Growling a little, she realized why nothing had bitten on her hook yet. Something had bitten it off and the rest of the line was tangled. Glancing over at Ladybird, she sighed, ”Yeah, looks like I have no luck today, kiddo.” Ladybird only barked in response, she didn’t have much luck either, or so it seemed.

Well, the woman was having worse luck, it would seem, Ladybird thought as she heard her swearing at the fishing pole. She almost threw it down as well, but decided against it at the last minute, it was hard to find quality poles, so there was no point in ruining this one, she figured. Giving a sigh, she settled down next to the pup’s kennel and started to untangle the line, there was no point in getting new line unless she couldn’t get this untangled, besides, it gave her something to do, she knew. Jack pushed her hair back as she worked and stuck her tongue out a little as she worked on things, wondering if the Houluh thought she was out of her mind or what. It was possible she was, after all, but there wasn’t much to go on either it would seem. Jack frowned a bit, it would be easiest just to cut the line and use new from the same spool, but knowing her, she would do it the hard way.

There was no point in wasting perfectly good line, she knew, and the woman chuckled a little as she went around to see what was going to happen. She knew that she could get it untangled, or at least she hoped, considering there was quite a bit of algae on it as well. This would just make it harder, and she groaned a little at the thought. She didn’t know what to do right now, and the woman sighed a little as she thought about it a little bit. After all was said and done, she would have to cut the line, this one had too many kinks in it, which made it that much worse. Maybe she should use some bait as well, that would work out for her, she figured with a little smile. She did have some fish bait she could use, or she could use some lures or something, that would be interesting.

Jack shoved a hand through her hair and then picked up a knife she carried with her. This was annoying, but there wasn’t much else she could do about it at the moment. She cut the line and shoved the tangled mess into her bag, she wasn’t going to leave it behind and let something choke on it after all, she was at least conscientious of that much. The woman glanced over at the pup who was eyeing her intently, and she wondered if she was wanting to help out or something. ”Sorry pup, no can do, you don’t have the ability to help me out with this,” she told her with a weak smile. Jack then pulled the line out of the spool and through the loops on the pole before pulling it all the way through the last loop and tied a few knots in the line itself.

Well this was going well so far at least, she had to be happy about that much. Jack rubbed the back of her head and then tied a bobber onto the line as well as clamping a few sinkers onto the line too. She didn’t know if she really needed it for her hooks, but, well, there wasn’t a reason not to, right? The woman then tied a hook onto the end and threaded some fish bait onto it before casting it back into the water and wedging the pole handle into some rocks. There, that ought to do it, damn fish taking her hooks and everything. Sighing, she washed her hands off in the water and wiped them on her pants before turning back to Ladybird in the kennel. Well, she knew what to do next, and the very last thing they would do she would let her out of the kennel for.

[Ladybird: Accept Loud Noises - 1]
Loud noises was next, then blood and scary things, and then finally sudden movements. It made sense to her at least, and she wasn’t sure what else to do for her before the show, other than a bath. She wasn’t as messy with the mud as her father was, definitely, but she still got dirtier than most of her other Houluh by just sitting there. It was a good thing mud didn’t show up on her coat all that well. Jack stretched out and then picked the airhorn out of her bag and pressed the button on top. When it let out it’s whistling sound, the Houluh jumped so high she was sure she was going to crack the top of the kennel. The woman winced as well, it was pretty loud, but she was so used to it by now it didn’t affect her too terribly much at least. That was good for her, bad for Ladybird, they were going to have to work some more.
