Morgan knew that now, they were at a pretty good point in the training for this particular skill, and that Endymion would only need another thirty minutes or so of work to get to the point to where he knew it. Their arm was pretty tired at this point, however, they were very sure to keep pushing past it, throwing more pellets now, to make absolute sure that Endymion would be able to dash away from danger if Morgan gave the whistled cue. After a lot of work from both of the two in the wide open space of the main mine shaft at the front of the mines, Endymion was dashing without the bounding that was causing issues before, and also was doing the dash skill on 'command' like it was a reflexive motion. Finally, Morgan was happy with their progress!
"You've got it!" Morgan said, grinning.

It had been a huge amount of work for them to get to this point. It really wouldn't be something that Morgan considered a huge amount of work if not for the fact that they had gotten all of this done in such a short amount of time. However, they were no where near done, even remotely. The human and the draconic took a long break, in which Morgan sat down and looked over some of the rocks that they had collected. they felt like some of them were feeling pretty weird, like a soft whispering hum was coming out of them. After a conversation or two, Morgan decided to pull the tools from their backpack again and begin working with some of the rocks. Endymion took a nap on one of the toolboxes along the wall. It was obvious that all of this work had him very tuckered out.

While Endymion rested, Morgan worked. Their arms were already tired from all of the throwing that they had done today, but they knew that it was scarcely noon, and they had a bunch of other things to do today. They worked on the rocks, thankfully ones that had softer coatings of carrier stone than the one that they had been working with earlier, until they began to remove little gems from them. They thought about showing Endymion which ones they had found, but he was very tired. Morgan would feel bad trying to wake him up every few minutes for such a dumb thing, so instead they would simply look them over, make their best identification for it, and then put it into their backpack. They scraped the leftover carrier stones onto the ground, now pulverized, and then they would move on to the next stone. They worked like this for some time.

Soon enough, however, Morgan was exhausted theirself. They figured it might be prudent to get them home for now, and go ahead to rest before their fishing trip this evening. Vixie was going to be gone all day and spend the night with her grandpa, so Morgan was sure that it wouldn't waste too much time for them to take a break working on things to take a good rest. They finished the last gemstone in the rock that they had, and found that it was a bright pink crystal. It was such an odd shape! They carefully tucked this into their backpack as well, and then brushed the last of the carrier stone off onto the dusty ground. "A-alright Endymion, let's go home and get some rest before going fishing this evening." They woke him up with those words and a pat on the shoulder.
Both of them picked up anything of interest before leaving.

They were back to the mines down in the canyon before too long. Morgan really wanted to teach Endymion the last few things they had decided to teach him as a youngster, and they were glad to have the last few months before he would grow. It was coming up really soon, though, Morgan was sure. They weren't entirely sure how they could feel it, but they could. "Alright, you got everything?" Morgan asks him, looking over him. Endymion nods in answer, checking Morgan's backpack for everything that they needed to bring. "Good, t-then we're good to go into the mines." They had been standing outside of the main beam mining shaft, and they were ready to go into the dark.
Now that they had made sure that they were ready, the pair goes down into the mining shaft. Both of them were glad for the lights that were strung up in the main beam.

Morgan sits their things down on a nearby work desk as soon as they could. Looking deeper into the mines can wait, for now. "Alright Endymion. There are two more things we're going to work on, today, before going deeper into the mines." They said, having caught their breath a bit so that they could work on not having their stutter be as bad as it normally was. Endymion nods, excitedly, but then looks a little confused. "But how are we going to find minerals?" He asks, curiously.
"The first thing I wanted to teach you is actually an attack. I w-want to teach you how to use your body weight to deal damage in a more... Powerful way than the pounce you l-learned a bit ago." Morgan says, getting things together. "We'll walk up here a little ways, and teach you to bash using the soft rock ahead."

Endymion listens, and nods his head. "Bash?" He asks. They walk a small distance before Morgan says anything, having noted where the soft rock was. "Yes, bashing is... Well, at least in your case, my idea as to have you ram using the b-bulk of the front of your body, perhaps your shoulders." Morgan poked around on his shoulders at that, which were a little bulkier than they were when he was young. Would they maintain that? "I-if that doesn't work out or hurts too much, we can work on finding a different way for you to do it." Morgan explains. Endymion looks down at his chest and his shoulders as Morgan explains, wondering if it would hurt too much to try.
"T-the eventual idea is that you would be able to use this at the same time as a pounce, in order to d-do as much damage as possible... For self defense of course."

Morgan didn't have any desire to see Endymion have to use his self defense training, but they weren't going to leave him high and dry to be unable to take care of himself in a pinch. For one, Endymion was bound to them, and if either one of them died, the other most likely would as well. The human knew enough about draconic anatomy to know that. It did make them worry about him, especially since he was still so young right now. "So, we can use another whistle as a qu-cue for this one." The human took a moment to decide on a cue, as Endymion listened intently. He wanted to have no issues when it came to remembering the correct one (not that they had a problem up to this point). After Morgan decided the played the correct cue. "This will be the cue for the bash a-attack."

Endymion nods. Of course, he still wasn't entire sure how he was supposed to even do this. He got the basic idea. Move, and hit the wall with his chest or shoulder. Morgan stops him before he tries for the first time, in practice. "Do it r-really slow the first time, with a definite bump using your chest or shoulder. L-let me know which one hurts the l-least." Morgan said, wanting to make sure that he was not going to get injured while just working on it. There was a possibility that he would not be able to do this at all, but they had their fingers crossed that it would work out for him. It would be such a super easy thing to teach, especially since Morgan wasn't sure if he was going to have any other weapons to use as an adult yet.
"Alright, n-now try." Morgan says, before giving the cue whistle so that he would get used to it.

Endymion was nervous, as he backed up a bit, winding up. "Practice first- not t-too fast." Morgan warns him. They didn't want him to be injured, even though this was going to be a difficult attack to learn. Endymion nods, and then moves at a slight jog towards the wall, finally hitting it (turning at the last moment) with his shoulder. He bounces back a bit, looking a little stunned, and Morgan shook their head. "Curl into it a b-bit. Throw your body, but roll. It should take some of the s-strain off of your shoulder." Morgan said, specifically. The human patted him, checking the shoulder. It wouldn't even bruise, but it was obvious that it had hurt a bit. "Good, y-you shouldn't bruise. Want to try again?" Morgan asked.
Endymion nods. "Alright, you've got i-it, try again." Endymion backs up again, practicing rolling his shoulder a bit.

Endymion takes another half-walk jog at the wall, bouncing slightly on his toes this time. He was very delicate in his movements, wasn't he? Morgan watches as this time, he makes contact with the wall with a little more force (though he was still anxious about it- Morgan could tell due to his hesitant actions), and with his shoulder rolling slightly into the force. It obviously transfers the pain away from his own shoulder, taking the force off of it a bit. "Great job!" Morgan says to him. They pat him on the shoulder again, noting that he was doing quite a bit better, this time, and was not in as much pain. "Now, let us start doing this with the c-cue whistle." Morgan said to him. Endymion nods, more excited now that he knew how to do it without pain.
Morgan gives the cue whistle, and Endymion takes off a little faster at the soft rock wall.

Endymion strikes the soft rock wall with enough force to push the shale a bit- one layer more up, and one layer more down. A chip falls off and clatters to the ground, and Morgan grins. Yes, this was acceptable- Morgan thought. "Good job, and you got it right on the ku-cue too." Morgan says to him. "See how y-you damaged t-the wall?" Morgan says, pointing to the wall. Endymion catches a full view of it, and kicks one of the chips on the ground with interest. "N-now if we can just get you to put more pressure... More weight i-into it, you'll be j-just fine." Endymion and Morgan speak for a moment about possible changes to his technique. Then, they begin practicing again. Morgan gives the cue whistle and Endymion takes off running at the wall from a position farther back than he had before.

This time, the force is quite a bit better due to the running start. He performed the move itself perfectly, but Morgan was worried about a few situations that might come up if they are unlucky. "You won't always get a running s-start. Try pushing off using your back legs to propel yourself forward from closer up." Morgan said, tapping the underside of their chin in concentration. Endymion practices a few time without actually connecting, using his back legs to push off of the ground at the same time. Finally, after a few tries, he feels like he gets it. "It is almost like a pounce, but with more of the body weight." He says, giving his insight.
"Y-you're probably right." Morgan replies. They bring the whistle to their lips and give the cue for the bash- and Endymion pushes off of the ground with his back legs like he had been taught.

Endymion's shoulder hits the wall this time with all the force that could be provided with a running start without actually having had a running start. The soft shale of the wall CRACKS with a huge noise, and Morgan backs up, grabbing Endymion by the shoulder and pulling him back. There was not a crumble of rocks like Morgan thought that there would be, thankfully. "You did it!" Morgan called out, echoing down the mine shaft. "If you do that a few m-more times, we might just find something right away after all." Morgan says.
They continued to practice the bash attack to the whistled cue for another thirty minutes. Endymion had gotten the hang of it by now, and each time he did it he did a little more damage to the shale in the wall. Eventually, they bust it up enough that a bunch of rubble lay at their feet. Morgan was sure that he had gotten it.
Just after that, Morgan received a call- and found out that they urgently needed to return to the lab. Morgan apologized to Endymion as they went home.
