Renathan knew that it was about time that they had gone, he had so much to do today. However, he was determined to find at least one more bell, if possible, within the next few minutes. At least he had his fingers crossed for such. Shy Guy, however, was already standing beside the door, as if he had sensed somehow that it was time to leave. Perhaps the bond with Renathan, somehow deep and carved without any indication as to the difference between where pet ended and master began on that wide emotional plane; but not one that Renathan dwelled upon anymore since it was almost like second nature at this point. Reanthan finally sighed, stood up, and rearranged the box as it had been when he found it. He didn't want to leave anything out of order. Then, he went to the door, somehow knowing that they would be safe once they left it. He took a quick moment to search around for some last trinket on the porch as they left.

After finding nothing on the porch, Renathan took a quick breath, and stared out over the yard of the Mansion. He really had no idea what he was looking for, but he knew that he didn't have many more times this month that he could come back. He'd really been looking forward to checking out the Well, he hadn't seen it this time of year, and wanted to know what it was going to be like. However, he also had other creatures that needed training. He had been considering bringing Auburn back here at some point, but up to this point hadn't entirely decided on whether or not that would be required. She was nearing the end of her training list. He had been trying to find things to add to it, but was really drawing up a blank when it came to teaching new things to bother her and Shy Guy! Shy Guy was growing a bit impatient with his lollygagging, even now.

Renathan placed his hand on the huge equillion's flank and then gently lead him off of the porch and on to the snow in the yard. The huge equillion didn't seem to have any issue transitioning it's split hooves from the wooden planks of the homey-winter version of the mansion and onto the wet and somewhat slick snow. Renathan bent down gently, once he got down to the ground, standing in front of the equillion so that Shy Guy wouldn't accidentally kick him in the head, and picked up a bit of the snow. It was more powdery than it had been the night previously; a fresh layer having fallen. It was quite a bit deeper, he knew. His feet were sunk into the snow drifts all the way up to his knees, after all. This wouldn't bother Shy Guy at all; the giant pure equillion didn't seem to have any issue with it at all; he was super tall!

Little did Renathan know; but Shy Guy was always almost hyper-aware of where Renathan was around him. He was protective of Renathan and did not want to allow him to be harmed in any way, let alone by himself! The giant creature was always super careful to make sure that he was as gentle around the smaller, lighter being than most of Renathan's other creatures would tolerate being. Renathan was in little to no danger of ever being kicked by Shy Guy, but Renathan would never put himself in that sort of position, as if asking for something bad to perhaps happen. He was not one to test fate unless he had to. Renathan let the snow filter out through his fingers, and then he carefully moved out into the yard, gently leading Shy Guy by his reins. The travel was a slow-going one, as Renathan was really just quietly exploring the yard a bit. They would go home soon enough, he knew.

Renathan didn't want to worry too much; after all, there was always next year. He had a ton of other stuff to do today, but he really wanted to check around just a little more... He felt like he hadn't really found a lot of stuff lately, he was really lucky the last rainy, sea-season it seemed. He wanted to find out as much as he could about this place while he was here, and really maximize the amount of time he was hanging out around here. Renathan had even more creatures to work with, and he really needed to get home... He sighed, gently moving a clump of hardened snow with his foot, and then continued on through the yard, scanning the area for anything that could be found. The huge pure equillion moved his robust yet oddly delicate body across the snow gracefully. Renathan was always amazed that pure equillion were so dainty...

The mansion did seem also to be reluctant about letting Renathan go as well; though that was about par for the course for the Mansion. Renathan was never truly sure how to react to the Mansion's strange change of it's physics that he wasn't sure he'd ever really understand. Renathan was a clever individual, and planned to try to learn more about the sciences, but wasn't sure where to really begin out here in the City. Still, it was a very interesting pull that the idea of science pulled to him. Shy Guy did not seem nervous at all, and that was a good sign. That meant that Renathan did not have to worry that the Mansion seeming to make the yard go on a bit longer than normal was not something that the mammalian should worry about. Still, Renathan kept his eyes peeled for any loot to be found, his hand carefully holding Shy Guy's reigns.

Renathan had not been here in such a long time, and he was not sure if he really wanted to be. However, his beloved familiar was going to need a bit more training if they were going to do well in the future petite tourney, and she wasn't going to be able to be trained unless they spent some more time together, or at least that was what he figured. She was a bit nervous and flighty lately, and he was sure that it was because he spent a lot of time away from her, using the sever bond magic spell. However, today, this was just going to be about her and him. Well, and perhaps finding some of those really neat items that could be found this month, It was one of his favorite months, really. Last year, Renathan had found a really neat fireworks gun! Renathan walked up to the gate, Auburn sitting upon his shoulder, perched like a cat.

Renathan had no idea what they would see in the Mansion this time; sometimes the Mansion was far more sinister than other times, but he really hoped to have a nice experience this time, especially since he was working with Auburn. He put his padded palm on the gate gently, and pushed, and it swung open without a creak, this time, as if it were on oiled hinges. That was quite abnormal! Renathan had no idea what to think about it, but was quite happy to see that the mansion was seemingly starting out quite politely, at least. He gently lowered his head, pointing his antlers at it, as if he were greeting a person. Throughout this entire time, Renathan has decided that the mansion was sentient, in some way, at least in his mind. So he decided that he and Auburn were going to bow today. He gave her the command to bow, and smiled as she did so.

Renathan hoped that the mansion would be kind to them today, and allow them to go home with some really nice souvenirs for visiting. That was how Renathan was choosing to visit this area. He figured that there was some kind of spirit of the land that lived here, and perhaps that was why it was sometimes aggressive, right? As soon as the izer was finished bowing, Renathan entered the grounds, closing the door behind him. Technically he had already been on the grounds, just outside of the gate and stepping through it, but he was not a hundred percent sure where the magic began. Renathan could tell whenever he stepped through the gate, however, that the area was so very nice and calming; with an excited buzz beneath it. Auburn clung to his shoulder excitedly, flapping her wings just a bit, as if she wanted to fly. Renathan smiled beneath the mask. Today would be good.

Still, even though Renathan was very glad and figured that today was going to be a good day, he was still super anxious about it anyway. He had quite a few rather strange days here at the Mansion in the past; mostly because of the fact that he had some kind of softness that allowed him to be messed with by psionic beings. The mansion appeared to be something of that sort, or at least, that was because Renathan figured it to be true, at least. He wasn't really a hundred percent sure how the mansion worked. However, he couldn't help but think about it spiritually, at least. Auburn seemed to be quite happy, and that made him calm down a bit. She was a happy creature, and hardly ever caused any issues. Her kindness often calmed him down, quite a bit. He adored her, she was so soft and not at all like any of his other animals.

However, Renathan knew that in the future, there was going to be strife. He'd found that he wasn't really the best at battling, it made him anxious, but he had made a promise to someone before that he would enter Auburn in the very next petite tourney. That was anxiety inducing, in all truth, but she really needed to be trained better in order to have any chance at all. He tried not to think of negative things, but sometimes it really just got through. Renathan glances up at the izer and coos at her gently, he did love her a lot. She was his familiar after all! Their bond was quite strong, in all honesty. He really wanted what was best for her. Renathan had with him his backpack, with some picnic foods for him and her, and of course some water. He was always prepared for a longer stay if it actually happened, Just in Case!

Renathan had brought a jar this month specifically for the fireflies that he knew would be here. Renathan had been here last year about this time, after all, so he knew about the fireflies in advance. As soon as Renathan saw the swirling fireflies nearby, he opened up the jar and rushed over, nearly knocking Auburn off of his shoulder. What a goof! He laughed after he realized what had happened; he was so used to her claws that whenever she scrambled to hold on to him, flapping her wings about in a horribly hilarious way. Renathan had made it over to the fireflies in time, however. All three were such a pretty green! He captured one of them in the jar quite easily, and rushed about chasing one of the other ones, hopping about with Auburn clinging on like he was a bucking bronco and not a grown mammalian.

Renathan spun around in circles, until finally he had caught the second green firefly in the glass jar. The lid had holes punched into it so that they could breath; but Renathan wasn't sure why he did that. The fireflies would fall down into the well anyway; and it was presumably filled with water, right? Or at least mounds and mounds of trinkets that people threw into it month after month after month. Renathan was ultra curious, but he didn't want to insult the spirit of the land that lived here by rappelling down into the well or something like that. However, he was curious about how insulted the mansion would be if he lowered a light down in there so that he could try to see what was in the bottom of it... Huh. Renathan had two of the green fireflies in the jar now, and he was looking for the other. He followed Auburn's gaze, and saw the last one!
