The sun slowly rose over the horizon, and it rose on the fossil and the woman still sleeping deeply in the Mansion’s bedroom they had found the night before. It was alright, there was no way of knowing when they had fallen asleep, she didn’t have a clock or watch on her, maybe she should start carrying one or something. Jack rolled over and winced when she saw the light through the window as she slept, and then buried her head further under the covers. She was lonely at the moment, which sucked, but what could she really do. Sleeping with her animals in the bed was as close as she could get, and she wasn’t insane enough to want to try something with her animals, that was disgusting. Jack slowly opened her eyes and blinked a few times, trying to get her bearings. This was going to take a little while though.

Jack was not a morning person, that much was apparent when she groaned and stuffed a pillow over her own face. Bigfoot squeaked a little when he was upset from the pillow he was on and then toppled over a little. The woman sighed a bit and glanced over at him before she sat up and stretched out. After rubbing her eyes a little, she wondered what she was going to do in order to find that crystal that still thrummed inside of her veins. It was going to be rough, but she would find it and some other things eventually, she knew. Jack yawned again and then went to the bathroom before starting to go through the drawers in the bedroom. At least no one had messed with them in the night, she figured, or at least the door was still locked at the moment, which was a good thing no matter how she looked at it. Whatever, she doubted it was in the room, but still, that was fine.

She wouldn’t get anything done if she didn’t get going though, she knew with a little smile. After going and washing up a little in the bathroom, she scooped Bigfoot into her bag again and unlocked the door, starting out into the hallway again. This wasn’t going to be bad, she knew that things would work out for them in the long run, and she really wanted to get him all of his nutrients at this point. Stretching out a little as she still woke up a bit, she wondered what they might find, other than the small thrumming she could feel at this point. There was another crystal out there, and her hand touched her node pouch for a moment as she thought about what it would be like to get more nodes. Hopefully she would be able to, but she really had to get to the mines before she did anything like that.

If she managed to get the crystal from wherever it was hiding, she was going to be pretty excited. What if she found more than that anyway? Jack grinned a little and patted Bigfoot on the head as she wandered down the hallway, wondering what was going to happen for now and all that. Hopefully she would find something, but wasn’t sure if she would at the same time. All she could do was hope that she would find it, and she didn’t know what was going to happen right now. Crystals were a hot commodity, especially now that a person could trade ten of them for a Shijin at Zoological Imports, something she couldn’t do since she already had one, and she glanced over at Asia, the Shijin who was always there, though not always acknowledged. He didn’t seem to mind though, and that was fine by her. Jack just knew what she needed to do for everything, she would get it done.

She had to find something soon enough, right? Jack sighed a little and opened a door nearby, wondering what to do with some things. It was another storage room, but the thrumming was letting a little lower now, so she was going in the wrong direction. Frowning, she turned and left the room, exchanging a glance with the fossil for the moment and then walked down the hallway and down the stairs she had climbed the night before. She supposed it didn’t really matter where they went as long as she found this other crystal, and that was the hardest part for her to come to terms with, she supposed. There were other things to find, but here she was focused on the crystals she was finding, and she wondered if this was a bad thing for her to do for now a little. Well, she needed them if she was going to have all the magic, she figured.

Bigfoot wasn’t sure what the purpose of all of this was, he was in her bag most of the time, just looking around, they hadn’t trained in quite some time now. He looked over at the woman and then shook his head a little like he had seen her do from time to time. It was alright he knew, things would be fine the more he thought about it. Whatever she was looking for, they would find it he hoped. Maybe it was more of the little walking things, but he kind of doubted it at this point. All he knew was he was starting to get a little bored, and that was never a good thing. Poking his head back into the bag, he looked around to see if there was anything he could play with, but there really wasn’t anything at this point. Looking back up at the woman, he sighed a little and rested his head on the side of the bag, wondering when they would find what she was looking for. It didn’t really matter, he supposed, they would get it no matter what.

Where would they go now that it was daylight again? There was a little forest in the back of the Mansion grounds it seemed, so they might go there. Is that where the crystal was? Jack tilted her head and then checked on Bigfoot, making sure he was more or less alright at this point. Everything was going okay, which was a little boring, but there wasn’t much she could do about it at this point. Life had a weird way to throw curveballs at her though, so she wasn’t sure this was the best idea in the long run. Shaking her head a little, the woman wondered what she was going to do right now, though she wished she knew. It only made sense, didn’t it? Whatever, it was fine, she knew as she left the Mansion and stared around at things. It would be alright, she knew, but for now, things were becoming rather difficult. What was going to happen to them at the moment anyway?

It would be alright as long as they found what they were looking for, or at least what she was looking for. Already she had enough remnant crystals to make another node, and she thought she had the mind crystal and berry cluster to make one, but she wanted more, definitely. Already she had four, if she found this one, that she could sell to someone if they wanted to save up for a Shijin. Now there was an idea… but she didn’t know if she really wanted to do that, she was greedy when it came to magic, she knew with a chuckle. She was greedy with a lot of things, she thought as she looked down at Bigfoot, she had enough ingredients to make four revived fossils, Bigfoot included. Tilting her head a little, she wondered if she had overdone it a little, but she wasn’t sure at the moment.

If wanting to be involved in a wonderful new process was bad, then apparently she was bad for doing it. Jack didn’t care much for it though, and as she stepped out of the Mansion and surveyed the grounds, she smiled a little. At least she had cleared her Kennel a little more recently, something she was pleased with at the moment, and she knew that everything was going to be fine with all of that. Pushing her hair back, she kept her other hand on Bigfoot’s little head as she walked along, wondering where this crystal she felt was. It almost had to be out in the weird looking forest behind the Mansion, that was the only place on the grounds she hadn’t really inspected the night before. Could she spend a lot of time there though? Glancing down at the fossil, she knew that he was probably getting a little hungry, but she wasn’t going to feed him quite yet.

If anything, it was something to do, she figured as she stepped off of the porch and started to go around the Mansion a little bit toward the forest, she wasn’t sure what to expect there, but that was alright. This gave her something to do to enjoy things a little, and the woman sighed as she glanced down at Bigfoot. He trumpeted a little at her and tilted his head back at her, a look that made her chuckle a little bit. Anything was better than nothing right now, but she hoped that she was going to be fine in the long run. What did she need to do right now aside from find some magic? That was a hard question, but she hoped she would figure out the answer to it soon. Jack pushed her hair back a little and sighed, wondering when she would find something good, and hoped it would be rather soon, or at least sooner rather than later.

It was getting harder and harder for her to focus on what she needed to do though, which was get Bigfoot some more experience. Sure she could train him, but she was utterly unaware of what she should focus on, at least until after he eventually evolved. That was the hard part, she didn’t know what he was going to look like, if he was going to have sharp teeth or claws or something. Jack looked down at him with a somewhat defeated look, that was the issue in not knowing what was going on for the moment, and she hoped that she wouldn’t be disappointed with his evolution when it happened. Well, at least she had something to do though, she shouldn’t be too upset with things, and Bigfoot was kind of an experiment, she wasn’t sure what to expect and this might help a little, or at least she hoped so.

With the sun up in the sky, she hoped that everything would go well, but she wasn’t sure about that for now. Jack walked closer to the forest behind the Mansion and hoped she wasn’t going to get lost in there. It wouldn’t be any worse than the maze from earlier though, or at least she hoped that was going to be the case. If anything she could fly up there on Alexei or something and see what she could find without digging around too much. How would Bigfoot react to flying? She didn’t know, and it was interesting to see what was going to happen. Maybe he would get airsick, that was definitely a thing, and she figured he would like for his feet to be planted firmly on the ground. It made sense, she had a feeling he was going to be rather large thanks to the fat she had given him, and she hoped that might be the case.

Okay, what should she do at the moment anyway? Train up Bigfoot a little or go into the forest? Or train Bigfoot IN the forest? She sighed, knowing she wasn’t going to do that, and sat at the base of one of the bigger dead trees that made up the little forest patch behind the mansion. She was tired, she was bored, she wanted to be done with this but she needed to feed Bigfoot three more nutrients. It wouldn’t hurt to not feed them to him, would it? A groan escaped her, she would hate herself if she didn’t feed them to him though, and so she needed to press on some more, that was just really difficult to do with how she was feeling at the moment. This had been an enormous undertaking, and she wasn’t sure she could do it at least three more times for the fossils she already had. There were two other kinds out there, she believed, and she wondered what they looked like.

Everything was getting tougher as the years went on, she felt with a sigh. Jack leaned the back of her head against the tree trunk with a frown on her face, wondering what to do for now, she hoped that nothing bad would happen to them for a little while. As long as she had fair warning, everything would be alright, or so she hoped. Without thinking too much on things, she wondered what was going to happen for now. Chewing her lip a little, she finally decided to let Bigfoot out of her bag and watched as he raced around, chasing some leaves with faces on them. They looked like thin wax, they probably were, and she figured she would grab them before leaving just in case. It wasn’t like it was going to hurt or anything, right? He was having the time of his life at least, and she hoped they could keep this up for now.

She was getting a little burned out, making sure the fossil was experienced and fed his nutrients, and she wondered if anyone else felt the same way at the moment. Of course she had heard of only one other person doing anything with their fossil, and she wondered if they were having the same issue she was. If so, it might be nice to talk to them about it, see what they did in order to get over the slump, but she shook her head as Bigfoot raced by her, chasing another leaf. No, she couldn’t intrude on someone just because they were training similar things, she figured with a little sigh. It would be nice, but she wasn’t going to do it, at least not yet, life was hard enough without basically a stranger to intrude on your fun. That was the worst part, but it was also how she managed to get friends. Whatever happened, she was sure things would be alright.
