Training Update We all know that training the same things over and over again is just the worst. So! We've come up with a training update to help take the load off. Now you can spend TP on moves and abilities in a creature's base stats without roleplaying the actual training process. (Your character is assumed to have done the training 'off camera' so to speak.) What does that mean, exactly? Well, let's use a Brown Vulticus as an example: Normally, to teach the Vulticus how to 'Bite' I would need to train the creature in character, get it approved, and spend 2 tp. Now, all you have to do is spend 2 tp. Just fill out the usual training application, but leave out the training link. Easy as that! What about things that aren't in the creature's base stats? Say I wanted to teach this Vulticus 'Claw' instead of bite. Well 'Claw' isn't in the base stats, so I would have to go through the old system of training the creature, getting it approved, and spending the 2 tp. This currently works for everything in a creature's base stats and things on the basic trick list. All other tricks, moves, and abilities must be manually trained. After all, they don't come naturally to your creature, that's why they're not in the base! Injected moves and abilities (and other alterations) do not count as 'base' for this purpose. We will be writing a 'training tutorial' shortly, but for now feel free to get started! FYI: Staff will be carefully monitoring this system, since it's a pretty big change! We may make some tweaks down the line if we find any unexpected details come up.

The Fairy Ring Is Open!
After years of dormancy, harachiu have returned! All the breeds of harachiu are available for customs at The Fairy Ring, along with harachiu with completely unique line art. In addition to normal customs however, harachiu are now free breedables. A bit of romance, perhaps the addition of a fancy flower, and you have a baby fairy! With the purchase of an enigmatic blossom, that love even reaches beyond the boundaries of species. Finally, harachiu can now have their outfit changed, allowing you to dress them up however you'd like! To support all this, a sub-website has been made for the shop, which can be accessed here. Feel free to take a look and explore!

Minor update to go along with the Fairy Ring announcement: Harachiu now grow upon reaching level 10 instead of the loyalty requirement they used to have. Please register your adult Harachiu via the Training Application form.

Pachee breeding update: Any item that can be harvested from creatures (except Sapling Flowers*) in the gardens can now be used in Pachee breedings! To use an item, simply include it in the first post along with your regular items, like berries. You may use as many items as you like, but please note that multiples of the same item may not have an additional effect. Any mutations gained from using harvested items are not heritable - that means that if you want the same mutation again, you'll have to use another item! Parents do not pass these special mutations down, and this is the only way to obtain them. Have fun! Hmm, I wonder what item you could use to get wings like this... *Sapling Flowers can still be used in the PPP, and therefore do not have an effect during breedings.

The Devaros Draconics have gotten a fancy upgrade. Thanks Xentus for the art! Devaros breedings will now produce Devaros offspring on the new lines. Your adult image should update automatically. To update your baby image, change '.gif' to '.png'. If you would like to continue to use the old images, please PM Silver who will get a code for you. Keep in mind that all offspring will be on the new lines, even if you keep your old image. I also have a little teaser for you. It seems that people with very loyal Draconics might be able to find something nice in the River Below that cannot be found in the River Bend. Best of luck!

The breeding guide has been updated to include some new content, including a mini-tutorial on Golem fusion and updates for any changes that have been announced but not clarified in the tutorial. The only NEW change made is that breedings involving Serums of Procreation no longer need roleplaying! (Basically, the serums are just a way to 'earn' a breeding with prize points instead of paying for it.) Additionally, we're officially letting everyone know that the old 'a creature can't fly unless you manually teach it how' ruling is officially out! Your creatures can do whatever they like in private roleplays, and they can use moves and abilities in their base stats without issue, including magic. They just won't do it on command unless you teach them. You still need to teach creatures officially to enter contests or tournaments, but otherwise feel free to breathe fire (or whatever you like) to your heart's content, including during quests! The only sort-of-exception to this is the dreaded 'Speak' which is technically a skill. You still have to teach Speak in order to converse fluently with a sentient creature. (However you can get your first language by just spending the 4 tp, so no complaints! That's so easy!)

The halfbreed stats area has received a reformat! Now you can use the 'by number' stats to find the crosses by their number/file name and the 'by power level' threads to search by species name/species involved!

Welcome to the Caverns!!The Caverns are basically a 'city' for Draconics to set up personal homes and shops/services. Just like the City, you can buy permits here and set up shop! Your Draconics could have jobs, they could have individual houses, whatever you like! (Though this doesn't lift the restriction on keeping non-Draconic creatures in the canyons, fyi!) Check out Permit Applications for more detailed instructions.

Two guides have received a touch up! Roleplaying Areas is a new guide going over all the areas and how characters gain levels in different areas! The only change made during this update is that the docks no longer restricts the kind of creatures allowed to visit. You can train whoever you want in the docks! The loyalty and levels guide has also received a touch up! The major change in this guide is the Loyalty chart - we've cleaned it up and simplified it a little bit. We've also folded the 'basic obedience' section into the loyalty chart so that it is less confusing overall, hopefully. (This guide has a few links which are broken - those are upcoming guides to look out for soon!)

You may now request your old crossbreed stats to be updated! As you might have noticed, a lot of newer crossbreeds have overall better stats than some of the older ones, and a lot has changed about stats since some of those were made. So feel free to apply for an upgrade! You may apply for more than one at once but keep in mind that the more you apply for, the longer it will take to get through them all. :3

Hey everyone! Exciting news - we're testing a new system of taming creatures during loot roll encounters! Now this is just a test, so please bear with us! If anything has to change we'll let you know asap. Starting now, encounters with creatures will include a prompt, and a number of posts to be made. What you must do is follow the prompt, make the requested number of posts, and then mark your post 'done' so that staff knows to check your roleplay. You will be playing both the part of your character (primarily) and the creature (secondarily) to be tamed. If staff thinks you did a good job characterising the creature and following the prompt, we will let you keep the creature! If not, we will ask you to try again, but on the second try you only get half as many posts. If you fail a second time, the creature will run off and you will not be able to keep it. Example: A purplish blob looks up at you from the water.... it's actually a Squirt! The squirt is very shy and trying to hide from you. To Tame the Squirt: Make at least 3 RP posts interacting with the creature and trying to tame it. At the end of your taming attempt, make your last post with [done] and wait for staff approval. Then you make your posts - wary of the fact that the creature is shy and trying to hide. Creatures may also be curious or aggressive, for example. (Yes! This means there will be no ongoing roleplay with staff, hopefully making encounters quicker and easier overall!)

The long awaited new registry system is live! From now on, users will track their own inventories in a single thread where they post everything they own. Every time you receive something new, please post in this thread to let staff know where you got it. Then we can track what you bought and where in case a dispute ever comes up! Be sure to check out the rules before you get started. Once you're done setting up your registry thread for the first time, please lock in your inventory via this thread. We are leaving all of the legacy registry threads up for three months so users can look at them if they need help figuring out what they own. After that we will remove them. We know that setting up a new registry is a bit of a pain, but hopefully this being easier to maintain will be a long term benefit for everyone. ♥
