Fishing got to be pretty boring after awhile, she knew. That was alright, she had some snacks and the rain kind of broke up the boringness of it all. Jack sighed a little and somewhat wished she was there by herself, but Terrence needed the experience in the outside world, so she had happily brought him along. Maybe she was regretting it, but… that didn’t matter right now, now did it? Oh well, it was alright, all she had to do was keep fishing and keep an eye on her Seryn, and that was easy enough to do now that he was grown up to be an adult. Maybe a baby would be much harder, but for now she just hoped that things would work out for her in the long run. As she sat there, pole in hand, line in the water, she felt her eyes begin to droop a little, and she wondered if the white noise of the rain was going to lull her to sleep.

The thunder that crackled overhead said otherwise, however, and the woman’s eyes snapped open again and she shook her head. She couldn’t afford to sleep like this, not so close to the river. Oh well, that was a bit of a shame, but there wasn’t much she could do about it. She repositioned herself on the sand and wondered what was going to happen today, hoping that Terrence really would grow by the time they were done, and it didn’t really matter though, she was happy with him no matter what. Jack sighed a little as she watched him swim through the water, happily coming to the surface every now and then to breathe and to see how she was doing as well. It didn’t matter what was going on, she suspected, but that was fine at the same time. Honestly she didn’t need a bunch of animals who were a little over protective of her in the first place.

If all she had to do was fish, then why did she feel so hollow when she did it? It just didn’t make much sense to her at the moment, not that she figured it would eventually, but still she sighed when she realized she was too much in her head at the moment. Nothing good ever came of that, she just got upset whenever that happened, and she vowed to stop it, though she figured it wouldn’t happen or anything. Jack tilted her hat back as the rain subsided a little, though the river was up a little bit as well, she could tell since Terrence could get a little closer to her than he had been able to before. Maybe she should teach him how to fly and how to swim on command, though that would be difficult to do. Had anyone taught a Seryn how to fly, after all?

She just wished there was more she could do with the fish. It wasn’t like she could train him to be a mount, at least not yet, and even then it was more of him pulling her along than her riding on him, she knew that much from his father and sister’s size. Now it was his turn, she supposed, and people wanted to see what he would look like all grown up, and it was hard to turn people down, at least for her at the moment. Sighing a little, she adjusted her hat again and shook her head a little, the rain dripping down onto the poncho and then onto the wet sand. It was about time to take a break and get some shelter, she figured. Whatever the case, she knew it was going to be hard to find some fish after awhile, they all thought there were bugs landing on the water, not more water, and so they didn’t want something underwater already it seemed.

Maybe she was just bored with things, maybe she needed to figure out how to spice things up or something. That only made sense, she knew, and she sighed a little. How she wished she could train a little while she was doing this, but it just didn’t make much sense, though maybe she could take him to the Docks after this and get him trained up a little more, she wasn’t sure what to think of that though. Rubbing her face, the woman wished she knew what to do, as she looked at Terrence with a little smile at him. It wasn’t his fault she didn’t know what to do with him, but that was fine, at the same time she hoped that she could do his species justice with what she wanted to do. It would be alright in the long run, she was sure, but whatever happened, she wasn’t sure she wanted to know.

The cause of everything didn’t matter so much as the effect, she supposed as she watched the Seryn swimming around with some other fish as she packed up her pole and trudged back to an overhang in the cliff face by the river so she could have a little shelter from the rain. It would be good for him to be further trained than he was already, she knew that much, but at the moment she wasn’t sure what else they could do. He could already use his rainbow, but other than that… what could he really do? It wasn’t like he could bite all that hard, and he didn’t have any hard parts to his fins, so he couldn’t really scratch anything. Maybe she would work on looking over the list later on, she figured as she curled up under the overhang with a little smile on her face. All she knew was, she liked at least thinking about it.

There wasn’t much for her to do while the Seryn had fun in the rain, the river was rising a little which made it hard for her to do much at the moment, but that was fine at the same time. Sighing, she hoped that things would work out for her in the long run, and she looked around in her little cavern she was in to see if there were any shells around for her to get. It was going to be hard for her to do what she needed to do, she figured, but that was fine as well. Maybe she would get lucky and find some more shells, or maybe a fish would jump into the net she was using at the moment. Hopefully everything would work out for them and all that, but she wasn’t sure if that was going to be the case. Maybe she really would train up the Seryn to swim and fly, but there wasn’t much else to do, either. Hopefully it would stop raining when they got to the Docks.

Or would they go to the Docks? It was hard for her to wrap her head around that, but what else was she going to do? Jack sighed a little and stared at Terrence, who was happily swimming around in the rain. Sure he knew how to swim, he had been born in the water after all, but that didn’t mean he knew to do it on command, and he certainly didn’t know how to fly, which was a bit of a shame. Shaking her head, she wondered if he would be the first Seryn to learn how to fly, but she doubted it. Whatever, it didn’t matter much in the long run, and she hoped that things would eventually make sense to her, but she doubted it. That was just the kind of thing she had to keep trying to understand, but whatever, it didn’t really matter in the long run anyway.

Maybe she wouldn’t take him to the Docks, at least here she had a chance for fish and shells, even plants and critters, but that might not matter in the long run. Eyeing the Seryn for a moment, she sighed and leaned back against the back of the little overhang she was sitting underneath and closed her eyes. While she wasn’t sure what was going to happen in the future, she needed to be ready for it and all that, and she hoped that all would be well in the meantime. Whatever happened, she was going to be fine with Kro and Alexei to protect her if she didn’t have enough magic by that time, but what else could she really do at the moment anyway? Jack chewed on her lip a little and sighed again, hoping that things would work out in the meantime wasn’t too good of a feature for her, but… what was going to happen?

It was highly possible she was just thinking too much, she figured as she watched the rain come down on the Seryn’s back as he swam. She still wasn’t sure if they were going to the Docks or not, at least it would break up this annoying trip, and maybe it wouldn’t be raining at the Docks or something, but there was no way to be sure of that either. Jack didn’t know what to expect from things right now, but it didn’t really matter in the long run anyway, she lived for the moment, usually, and didn’t plan too far ahead either. It just didn’t make sense to, she knew what she wanted and she was going to get it, but for now she just had to pay attention to what was going on in her life and all that, make sure she was going to be well in the long run.

If anything, at least it would break up the monotony, but it would still take effort on her part. Still, she wouldn’t be able to get the things she needed to get in order to do what she wanted to do. Mostly it was collecting things for Curious Collections, but what else could she really do about that anyway? Jack sighed and crossed her legs in front of her as she watched Terrence. She wouldn’t say he wouldn’t improve with training, of course, but what else could she really do for him? Teaching him to swim on command and to fly wasn’t going to be too terribly difficult, would it? Shrugging to herself, she realized it didn’t really matter in the long run, but at least she had something to look forward to, she decided with a little smile. Maybe here soon they would leave, but he was having fun swimming at the moment as well.

She just knew she was getting impatient, he wasn’t growing yet, but she could feel the beginnings of a connection to his emotions, like he was probably feeling to her. It wasn’t there yet, not strong and unwavering, but it was a beginning, which wasn’t a bad start, she was just impatient with it all, she knew. Jack sighed a little as the rain continued to fall on the Seryn in the river, and she saw a fish flop into her net, giving a little smile as she saw it. Well that was good at least, at least she had something to do with it after a little while and all that. Stretching out, she popped out from under the overhang as the rain came down to a little bit of a drizzle, and she hoped that things would work out for her from now on. A drizzle she could handle, she couldn’t handle the downpour that had happened earlier at least.

Fishing, it was interesting no matter how she looked at it, but with another fish? Now that was odd, she figured at the same time. Jack rubbed the back of her head and looked over at Terrence who was slipping through the water with ease. Of course he knew how to swim, he just didn’t know to do it on command, which was well enough for her, for now, considering he knew a little bit of combat training for the future if it was needed. Jack sighed a little, unsure of what she needed to do during this trip, but at least there was something that could happen, right? She rubbed Terrence’s head for a moment when he popped out of the water for a brief time, and then wandered down by the river for a little while, trying to find a good spot to fish in. Now that in itself was pretty hard as well.

Jack just hoped she could catch some stuff while they were there, and she wouldn’t catch Terrence, that would be no good no matter who looked at it. She rubbed her face again and decided she wouldn’t go to her normal area, which was fine for her, because she needed a new spot with how few things she had found the last time and all that. Shaking her head, she smiled a little, she was greedy when it came to stuff like that, but at least she had found some different fish last time and all that, it worked well enough for her. Hopefully she wanted to get this done and it would finish up rather quickly, but she wasn’t going to hope too hard on that. It was going to be difficult, of course, but at least she had an idea of what to do. Whatever happened, she knew that things were going to be fine.
