She really wanted to get some things done, so she figured this was going to be the best place for it, right? It wasn't like she was alright to take a pup into the mines this young, not like she hadn't done it before, or at least she thought so, but she still didn't want any rocks landing on Spot's head. A chuckle escaped her, she didn't know what to do about the fact that she had named a canine, Spot. It was the best, and it was so cliché she didn't know if it was bad or cute. Jack shrugged a little as she looked across the area at the river and tilted her head a little, she wasn't sure what they would find, if anything, and that was alright. Really she just wanted to spend some time with Spot, but she didn't know how much sleeping he would do while they were there.

Was her normal spot still there? And if so, was it unclaimed at the moment? She didn't think a lot of people knew about the big boulder she usually tucked her stuff next to, it was hidden in a little alcove. It was easy to see if you knew you were looking for it, but a little difficult if it wasn't something you were paying attention to. Still though, there was enough to find for her she figured with a chuckle. What were they going to do today anyway? Would she just hang out and soak in the sun or was she actually going to fish, she wondered. Of course there was always training the little pup, but she didn't know if she would do that yet or not either. Hmm, it was a decision she had to figure out eventually this time, but who knew if she would do a hard think on it.

There were goals, she supposed, to figure out what she was going to do with her time, and she smiled as she looked at the little sleepy pup in her bag as he shuffled around a little and shook her head. This was going to be good, she hoped he would be super handsome whenever he grew up and she frowned a bit as she figured out what to do. Fishing was going to be fun, she hadn't done that for awhile at least. Spot would be interesting as he grew up a little she figured, it was going to be alright as long as he learned and then got to do his debutante show and all that. What was going to be good with all of this? She had so many at home, she just didn't know what to do with them all, but... she could figure it out eventually right?

The area started to look familiar, and she was sure this was around the area. Jack frowned a little as she tried to figure out exactly where they were for a moment. The boulder should be there somewhere... Scratching her neck a little and patting Spot on the head, she looked around and finally found the little alcove with the boulder. Her face brightened and she put the net and fishing pole against the boulder and she placed the bag next to them as well. She really needed a tackle box, but this would work for now she thought with a little chuckle. Spot whined a bit and popped his head out of the bag, looking around in the bright sunlight. He didn't know why they were here and not back at home, but it was kind of nice so he wasn't going to fight it too hard at this point at least, right?

Okay, this was going to be alright she figured with a smile as she started to unpack her bag a little to see what she had. If she was smart she would bury some of her items around here so she wouldn't have to lug all this around so often, but... that would require forethought on her part that she didn't see happening any time soon. She could have plans for some things, but not really for others, which seemed to happen with a lot of people, but it was annoying with her she felt. Sometimes it just didn't work out. Oh well, it didn't hurt her to lug this stuff around, and it worked well enough for now she figured. Spot tumbled out of the bag and gave a big yawn and stretch, he was pretty cute, which worked out well for her she figured with a small chuckle and a shake of her head.

He was a cute little pup, and so far he wasn't nearly as aggressive or scheming as his father was, Heathen. That was an interesting Houluh in and of itself she figured as she chewed her lip. The ring on her finger that let her talk with the species twisted as she thought for a little while, rotating the ring over and over again. Maybe it was a mistake to have this on, but she didn't know, this wasn't going to be too much of a worry. Spot was cute so far, though she didn't know what his siblings were like who she hadn't been able to bring home. Only one from a Houluh breeding could go with each parent's owner, and then the third would go to the HAA. After awhile you could go and try to adopt the one from the breeding who had to go there, she had already done that once that she could remember at least.

Jack blinked for a moment and looked down at Spot, she had gotten off track again and she shook her head to get the fog out for the moment. Smiling, she patted him on the head and then began to look through the items she had for fishing. Usually she went with her pole, and she really didn't see why she should switch it up so far. Scratching her head, she tried to figure out which items she should use, a hook definitely, but she had her clog boots on as well and everything else she might need. Hmm, it was hard to decide though, so what was she going to do with all of this? Maybe she shouldn't have bought all this stuff, it didn't really work too well for her, she was talented enough in her own right she felt. Oh well, it wasn't like it would really hurt at least, so may as well try.

Worms, fish, what would she use? Glancing over at Spot who was sniffing at a few of the packages, she felt the corner of her mouth pull to the side, "Whatcha think pup? Fish? Worms? Or just... pellets?" Giving a little sigh as he looked at her and tilted his head, Jack patted him on the head and scratched behind his ears and then pulled a fish toward her and the fishing pole. It was going to be annoying, but she would try and figure out what she needed to do. A small hook was pulled over as well and she swiftly tied it to the fishing line and chunked up the fish a little, piercing one of them with the hook and then looking it over for a moment with a satisfied smile. "There we go, that should work well enough, right?" she asked, glancing over at Spot, who woofed a little in agreement.

"Come on buddy, want to help fish a little?" she asked as she walked over to the water with big strides. She tried to stay back a little so the pup didn't jump or get pulled into the shallow water. It was the dry season, but that didn't mean there wasn't any water, she wanted Spot to be safe. He woofed a little and trundled after her with floppy, loping strides. He was excited about being out now, though he wasn't sure what he was going to get done or what the point was. The woman chuckled at him and patted him on the head as she sat down next to where he ended up and cast the line into the water. Maybe they would get a bite, but she wasn't going to bet on it at this point she figured with a small chuckle. It was going to be a little while she thought.

She was a little annoyed. Not really sure why, but hey, it didn't have to make sense. Jack pushed her hair back and frowned as she walked along the riverbank, eyeing the high waters for this time of year. It had been raining quite a bit lately, and she wasn't sure what would happen if the water level kept rising. A little head poked out of her bag and she patted Spot's head absentmindedly. It wasn't like she was worried too much about her own places in the Labs, but she was a little worried about the ecosystem of the river, what would happen if it got to be too much around here? Glancing around, the woman shook her head, it wasn't really her place to worry about it though she figured, she didn't know what she wanted to do about it, there wasn't really anything she could do about it, so maybe just fishing would end up helping out.

Spot didn't really mind being out again, he kind of had fun out here, though he was still pretty young after all. Jack sighed a little and patted him on the head, there was too much going on she thought, she didn't know what to do with anything right now. Too much was happening and she was having some problems, but this would hopefully kind of clear things up a little bit. Just fishing for awhile could do that for a person, and while the little Houluh pup could find himself in a little trouble again, pretty easily too if she was going to be honest, she would be there to get him out of the water or whatever might happen again. It was the wet season, so of course the water was a bit high, but at least she could find her spot fairly easily still, so that was definitely a good thing.

The giant boulder was pretty hard to miss, though not many people looked hard enough to find the little indention in it that gave way to a hollowed out area. That's where she stashed a lot of her smaller equipment, though it was empty at the moment. Jack had emptied it last time since she didn't know how soon she would be back, didn't want any of the bait or anything going to waste after all. Stretching out, she put the bag on the ground next to the boulder and sighed a little as Spot wriggled around a little inside of it, though she had made sure he couldn't get out without any assistance, it was the safest way to be at the moment. Glancing at her fishing pole, she frowned a little and felt herself get a little heavier with her mood. Something just wasn't right, though she didn't really know what it was.

Bait... what was she going to use today? Giving her selection a small frown, she looked at her line and shook her head, she didn't know what to do right now. Hmm, it wasn't like it was going to hurt to try the biggest thing that could get her something, which was fish, right? Or at least that's what she thought for the moment, and she looked at Spot for a moment who was glaring at her a little bit. Sure, he was getting cranky, but it wasn't like she could really blame him she thought, she didn't like to be trapped anywhere either. Pushing her hair back, she slipped a knife off of her belt and took it to the fish, chunking it up a little bit until it was, what she thought at least, the right size. She hoped something would come of this, but it was never a guarantee, no matter what she hoped.
