Credits Credits are the primary currency around here. Most official shops only take credits in exchange for their wares. Users will also trade things in exchange for credits over at the trading post. What’s a credit? Your credits are equal to your current post count. Staff will make adjustments to your post count whenever you buy or sell something via the credit transfer system. Credit transfers aren’t instant, so make sure to keep track of your credits by reviewing the credit transfer threads before making a big purchase!

Official Shops Now that you have some credits, it’s time to go shopping. Official shops accept credits for the things that they sell, and some also accept trades. For shops that do not accept credits at all, see the section on ‘Specialty Shops’. Rules for Official Shops - Do not attempt to control the actions of the NPCs or the NPC’s creatures.
- Each character can only be in one official shop at a time.
- You may only visit any particular shop once every two weeks. (From the date of your first post.)
- The ‘in stock’ number is the maximum amount of that item you can buy per visit, regardless of your color choice.
- If an item does not have an ‘in stock’ limit, you may buy as many as you can afford.
- Do not post credit transfers for your shop purchases - the NPC will post them for you.

Making Trades Some shops accept trades in addition to credits, and some will even pay you for your goods. Making a trade is very similar to making a purchase, with a few key differences. See ‘Shops List’ for a comprehensive list of what shops accept trades. Addendum: Exchanging Creatures If you would like, you can exchange creatures purchased from shops for a similar creature of a different breed. All official shops that sell creatures accept creature exchanges, except the Hunter’s Lodge. (Creatures purchased at the Hunter’s Lodge can be sold to Zoological Imports, but neither the Hunter’s Lodge nor Zoological Imports accept exchanges for Basic or Very Special creatures.) Rules for Exchanging Creatures - The creature must be the same species as the one you are trading in for.
- You must be able to choose the color of the new creature in order to trade.
- You cannot trade in a creature that is not sold at the shop you are trading in.
- If the new creature costs more than the old one, you will have to pay the difference.
- If the new creature costs less than the old one, you will not receive a refund.
- The new creature does not keep the levels, items, training, etc. of the previous one.
-- If the creature you’re turning in had training, please make a note so the staff can remove it from the registry. - You cannot trade for a creature if you’ve already met your purchase limit for that creature.
- Offspring and custom creatures cannot be exchanged in this way, even if a shop resells them.

Specialty Shops Some shops do not accept credits at all. This is a list of those shops and an explanation of what they do. These shops are not included in the ‘one shop at a time’ or ‘once every two weeks’ rules that other shops have. APAA - The APAA is not really a shop at all. It’s an adoption agency! You can either make a thread in order to adopt a creature, or you can volunteer to earn some unique prizes. Houluh Adoption Agency - One pup from every Houluh breeding is donated to the adoption agency. You may come and adopt a pup for free as long as you follow the rules. Curious Collections - This strange market is overseen by a mysterious cloaked NPC. This shop only accepts trades of items in exchange for their goods, but they have some very rare and valuable things to offer. Questing Inquisitor - You may use the points you earn while Questing to purchase special prizes. Contest Hall Prize Shop - You may use the points you earn at the Contest Hall to purchase special prizes. This shop does not have a roleplay requirement. Fighting Pit Prize Shop - You may use the points you earn in the Fighting Pit to purchase special prizes. This shop does not have a roleplay requirement. Laughing Skull Tavern - While the Laughing Skull Tavern does sell stat-enhancing food, it is also a place to spend some time. Feel free to make a thread to roleplay in the tavern, even if you don’t want to buy anything.
